Introduction: Well, it has been such a long time since I posted a map. Now I present to you, Havana. Havana is a unique 2v2 intended map that is truly one of a kind. It boasts fast-paced gameplay and yet it has zero interlocking. You might think that the layout is too basic, but the gameplay is what stands out. The map takes place at the open runway and the middle lobby part of Rat's Nest. Almost everything was planned for great gameplay including the fact that I put weapon holders/receiver nodes on the containers, crates and the barriers to prevent them from moving. If you leave a good comment, than thank you. But if you leave a not so good comment, I recommend you to play it first because I have tested this map and they had fun. 1st post, and this looks like a really good job, I don't see many rats nest map, but they are starting to arise, good job, I give it a 4/5! I like the fact you have a lot blocked also. If I was you I would put BR on 10 second re spawn, but 30 is fine.
Pictures 4 & 5 are the same; also, how do you get onto the needler bridge (without using a grav lift). The map itself looks well thought out and the cones and roadblocks add nice aesthetic touches. It seems a bit overpowering to place a bubble sheild next to the sniper but I'm sure it works otherwise I doubt you would have placed it there.
Havana I love the fact that you've chosen do design a map on rat's nest, especially on the cliff part, where there's another factor the players have to take into account. The way you've blocked off the sides also look quite efficient, and force players into a place where they can't really hide. The sniper looks well positioned, it means that the sniper must have at least some talent if he's going to use it that part of the map. The cover by the bases look like enough to peform a counter on the needler, so the cover performs enough to match the weapons you've used. this looks great for 2v2s. I'll give a five star rating, I look forward to seeing your future maps.
nice map but you said there was no interlocking, however in pics 4 and 5 the bridges are interlocked. also is the sniper at the end of a hall way a good idea because coupled with the bubble shield it could wreck the funness of the map. the map looks really good for not interlocking 4/5 and for v2 i suggest you move the sniper to more of the iddle of the map to make it flow more evenly, ill dl and tell you how the gameplay is.
I would say this is one of the few good rats nest maps that Ive seen. Looks very nice for gameplay Im guessing, though the only way to find out for sure is to download it and find out. You might want to extend the land a bit of the edge, maybe with more boxes or bridges, just for a little extra room.Or dome in the entire outside halfway, whoch might give the map a nice atmosphere.
nice map tho their is no visable inter locking in the map looks like it will be fun for 2v2 but coulnt people just camp at the other teams spawn points ?? over all 4/5 very nice i will D/l as soon as i get some free space t-hanks Maybe make a v2
looks simple but fun. Not too many maps on Rat's Nest. I tried once and failed. I like how you blocked everything off and made it by the cliff. good job. 4.5/5
look interesting i will dl and get back on gamelplay, yay ratsnest map. I like the layout idea having it like a big T.
I don't really see much creativity here, you didn't really do much with it. Besides placing boxes and bridges this is the same rats nest. I think you could have done a much better job with this. No download for me. 3/5
These are just my first impressions from the pictures, so maybe some of the things work out in gameplay, i don't know. -Like a couple people said, putting the sniper next to the bubble shield seems really overpowered. -The blue base seems bigger than the red base. Did you do that on purpose? If so, why? -I've had bad experiences with only-accessible-by-grav-lift places. It seems weird to only have one route to the needler bridge, especially since there's very little cover in that hallway. It seems like a rather high degree of vulnerability just to get a weapon that's not the most powerful on the map. Other than those nitpicks, it seems like a cool map. You certainly picked a good place to build on rat's nest.
It is not the same as Rat's Nest because it is a 2v2 map with most of the map blocked off. It doesn't matter if he just "placed boxes and bridges" because gameplay is what matters. This isn't the aesthetic maps section, so it doesn't really matter if it "looks bad". Ya know? Anyway, good job getting past Foundry and using a different map. Sorry for the non-download review, but I just had to respond to the above post. =P Maybe you could add some more pics about the middle part, since you have just like one pic of that inner hallway. (It kinda seems odd actually that there's just a middle hall sticking out for the sniper/needler to be in.)
Nice observation. I would not change the Sniper location because that seems to be the best place for it. As for the Bubble Shield, yes, I would have to move that in a different place in v2.
The map looks very interesting. I have already done a forge through and I like the weapon layout. I will try to get a game on it soon.
kk i dled and played like i said and it works pretty good. maybe you should set sniper to spawn at start yes spawn time 60 sec and bubble shield to spawn at start no spawn tme 45 sec just a suggestion
After a couple games on this map, I cleary saw this map's specialty would be head on games. I loved how you made this map on Rat's nest. Many forgers don't make maps on Rat's nest and I'll definitely give you props for that. Now the game play wasn't bad, though if I had one word to describe it, I would say 'repetitive'. I noticed most of the spawning occurred at the outside of the T promoting players to just use their AR, instead of actually going for the sniper rifle at the end of the T. I'm not exactly sure why this is happening, but I think it has something to do with more spawns in that area. Here's a couple of pics to show you what I mean. They are in chronological order. I acknowledge that today's trend with weapons is to downsize the quantity of them placed on the map, but I truly believe if you had a larger variety weapons on this map, things could definitely get a ton more exciting! Maybe on the outside of the T at both ends you could have a mauler. Summary This map definitely has the potential to be an amazing 2v2, 1v1 map, it just needs some modifications to make the gameplay a bit more exciting. I'm going to give you a 4.7/5 for this map's rating mainly because it's layout is great for game play, and that the map itself is made on Rat's Nest.
i love the feel of the map when you play its like a paintball field feel. I also like that you have to work and go through the alley to get the sniper. I thought it was a fun map. 5/5
Nice map, It looks pretty good, I will DL once I clear some maps, but what I can see is that it will play incredibly well, You may want to fix the Wire spool to the sniper, because wire spools are movable and might be moved out of place during gameplay. Otherwise the map is good for a Rat's Nest map, 4.5/5
