At the start of a match, each team spawns in one of these two bases. From there, they can teleport to the ice cave. In CTF or Assault, the idea is traverse the cave, then teleport into the opponent's base where the flag or bomb plant point is located. In the other gametypes, the objectives are only located in the cave. Because MidPoint is linear in shape, the gameplay is similar to tug-of-war. The most common outcome of this are long CTF games and quick comebacks in Conquest. It is crucial that players control the cave! GAMETYPE DESCRIPTION: For the most part, the modifications to get these gametypes were made to improve flow. The way I see it, flow is the greatest factor of enjoyment in a Halo match. Most players notice flow subconsciously, but a select few (usually forgers) notice it directly. With this concept in mind, I made the alterations that formed the MidPoint gametypes. i like it alot and i love that u made a v2 i have never done that ever i like the no camping nice map but on red side u still can camp behind it sorry but u jump on the ramp behind the tel sorry i couldn't tell u that my xbox is overheating nice map better
If you went behind the teleporter and then tried to assassinate someone, you would just teleport yourself. Besides, there is a shield door right in front of the teleporter which further prevents that (not visible in picture). Bottom line: Of course there is some way for people to camp, but it is not nearly as easy as it was before. That's kind of what you get with teleporters anyway. PS- You really don't like using periods, lol.
although i think its cool that there is a conquest map on this part of avalanche, i also belive it to be a very silly idea because of the lack of cover usually made between the parts with the man cannons. however with a second look through the pics i see that there is some flow and not just a bunch of randomly placed platforms. i might have to give this one a dl for further investigation
Great map, the test was great. I love the laser and the fuel rod spawn. The F is nice too. It was not great with KOTH though, glad u took it out. But, its original, and looks great. I already DLed it, I haz give : 5/5. Good job on it.
I assure you I do not place objects randomly. Although there are limited cover spots on the platforms, the starting weapon for all of the MidPoint gametypes is the SMG. Because of this and the lack of long range weapons, players crossing the ice cave are safer than it seems; you cannot pick off people from across the cave. Thank you very much! In an effort to improve the MidPoint King variant, I put a second hill on the Bottom Plat. The hill moves back and forth between these two positions, so the gameplay is a bit better than when you played it.
I had some fun 2v2's on this map with some of my friends. It was actually very fun. While the actual map geommetry is nothing spectacular, the layout is pretty cool. We played some king of the hill which was a very fun game. I do think that you could have changed around where the hill is, because one kid from the other team just sat on one of the platforms where we couldn't see him.
Hey, as I mentioned to C0N741N3D, king of the hill is definitely improved. The hill now moves every 30 seconds to a second location. I still completely recommend the Conquest and CTF variants however.
