Map Name: Caesura Link to map: What is "Caesura"? Caesura is an extremely small, symmetrical map based around two bases. As you near the attacker's spawn, you lower in elevations. As you near the defender's base, your altitude increases. The defender's also spawn with the sniper rifle in their base and closer to the power drain. Attackers spawn with a battle rifle and closer to the brute shot. Though it's easy for the attackers to gain control of the power drain or for defenders to hold the brute shot. In the middle there is also a tunnel which leads up to a grav-lift. Said grav-lift is the third way to get into the defenders' base. The other two ways are ramps which lead up. Overall the map plays extremely well with parties of about 5. Or small objective-based games with two teams with two players on each team. Gametype Suggestions: Caesura has been fitted to play with any gametype other than Infection, VIP, Juggernaut, and Territories. It is highly recommended to play with One Sided Bomb, Slayer, Oddball, or One Flag. As a recommendation, I suggest using the following settings for playing Assault: Similar respawn settings should be used for CTF games also. Otherwise you cannot stop the flag carrier in time. Weapons: Assault Rifles x7 Battle Rifles x1 Sniper Rifles x1 SMGs x1 Magnums x2 (One is used only for scenery) Plasma Pistols x1 Plasma Rifles x1 Brute Shots x1 Covenant Carbines x1 Frag Grenades x4 Plasma Grenades x4 Power Drains x1 Weapons spawns have been made in the most balanced way possible. If you find them unbalanced at all, please contact me with suggestions. Screenshots: Picture One - Looking at defenders' base. Picture Two - Looking towards the grav-lift into the defenders' base. Link to map: A Few Question You Might Have: "Caesura" is a pause, break, or interuption in the middle of a verse line. That's where the map's description comes from. I have gotten this definition from this website: caesura - definition of caesura by the Free Online Dictionary, Thesaurus and Encyclopedia. I had no real inspirations. I just thought of this and it came to me while I was making it. If anything, I was inspired by other maps that had the double walls for a floor. Yes! I have made this on a limited money map. I also had plenty of money left-over after I was done with the constructions, so it'd be quite easy to make a new version base on your feedback. Yes. Please keep in mind that this map is EXTREMELY small. As long as you keep the party size small, you'll have no problems. Another thing, there is a shield door separating the middle tunnel. It's not really a camping-spot and an easy way to get someone on the other side is to throw a grenade over the little crack in the top. ----- If you've got any more questions, just ask them =P For emphasis: Link to map:
It looks nice, but I have concern with the defenders having easy access to a sniper and power drain / brute shot with their base being at such a high elevation compared to the rest of the map. Seems like it might be overpowering. One shouldn't rate their own maps.
couldn't the defenders just keep throwing the power drain down to attackers base and BR their way to victory very easliy? Idk, i'll download and try it out later... 3.5/5 for now
it looks good but that last pic is just bleh noy good looks to emty but the rest is great 3/5 i would say that you should make some more cover down in that area
The power drain isn't really a problem with the gameplay. It is set to respawn in 180 seconds. Yeah, I thought about it during the map's creation. Also, more cover down below would ruin the quick-paced flow of gameplay. lulz @ epic revive from like 60 pages back xD (Not by me, from the above^^)
