ok so they now have all the units up for Halowars-UNSC and Covanant, but the main "Home" Structure that you start of with as the covies is called a Citidel. could this be what the map looks like, or close to it? Link to Halowars: Official Halo Wars Community Site Here is a pic of it
Well, I remember bungie releasing a single photo of staff members playing a game on citadel, if I'm not mistaken. I can't get the link though. The picture was quite similar to that, but it wasn't Assembly.
Assembly we've seen, Orbital we've seen, and Sandbox is most likely a Forge map. Heretic is a Midship remake; Longshore is supposedly an outdoorsy human-beach type level (I would imagine in the style of Relic but with Headlong-ish styled structures), and Citadel is most likely going to be a close-quarters map structured like the indoor areas at the end of the campaign level The Ark (the Forerunner-y indoor areas where you fight Brutes up until you get to the outdoor portion at the very end of the level). I have no proof of these statements, but just watch them come true. I have my sources, and very reliable ones at that. So overall, the Citadel you have shown is not like the soon-to-be Halo 3 map titled Citadel, it is instead just a Halo Wars thing.
Doubt it. Citadel probably looks more like the citadel from The Covenant mission in H3's campaign at Rally Point Bravo.
well, that is possible, but they already have made a map like that also for "The Ark" guess what its called? Construct, lolz. you could be right however, i mean they have Avalanch and Snowbound which are both snowy maps, just ones larger in size. that could be the same senario with construct and citadel.
Citadel will be modeled after the area right before you go outside into the Construct-y area. It's the place where you fight all of the brutes indoors and where you can get the Cowbell skull I believe. It will be structured like those rooms connected to those stairways, and will be an asymmetric 6-8 player map.
..Also if i'm not mistaken...halo wars has been under construction for awhile now right..and I assume they made their base structures before bungie made Citadel... So unless Bungie copied Halo Wars then this is not true.
But Ensemble Studios had gotten the "Halo Bible" from Bungie to work on Halo Wars. Theres no doubt that somwhere in it there could have been designs based on covenant maps, etc to be used whenever.
I thought it had already been confirmed by people (non Bungie employees) that have played the Mythic maps (except for Sandbox) that Citadel is based on the section of the campaign. 'Citadel' sounds better than 'Base'. It used quite a bit in fiction because it just sound more interesting than 'base' and a bit more mysterious than 'stronghold'. But no, that is not what the map in Halo 3 will look like.
I'd have to say that while it would be cool, the structure is waaaay too large to be a map bungie would make. Plus from several sources it's confirmed that the map is the spot right before you enter the citadel in halo.
But you cant deny that the Citadel from halo wars would still be a cool idea. But your probably right, it will likely be just the one from the campaign. Makes you wonder what the map will be like
