I'm posing this question because I just did an experiment and I think it makes a big difference.

My girlfriend has a projector she uses for work. The projector can be hooked up to any AV device and projects the image up to 250 inches on any surface. We hooked it up to the 360 for movie night on a giant wall in our living room, and after the movie was over I popped in Halo 3. I was super excited because my logic was that I would be better because I would be able to see things in greater detail being such a large screen. It was fun to play that way because it felt like I was actually "there" in the level being that I had no peripheral vision of my living room, my entire field of vision was taken up by the screen. But the bad news was that I sucked. I got destroyed in all 3 of the slayer games I played on the wall. The feeling was that I couldn't react fast enough because I could not take in the whole image at one time. I literally had to turn my head and move my eyes to the left if someone was attacking me from that direction.

After talking with a friend of mine that seriously dominates in matchmaking he told me that he plays on a 15" screen sitting a few feet from it.

I wanted to see what set-ups you guys have and if you think it makes a difference in your gameplay.

I found that my 32 inch is what I play best on. I've played on a 52 inch and I sucked at every game especially guitar hero/rock band games. And I've also played on a 10 inch and I did normal on the music games, but I did horrible on Halo.

My friend plays on a 42' inch HD widescreen TV and can't play good without it, but I play on a 27' tube TV and I can't play off it either. Idk, it's really what you first get used to. I can take a picture of my setup too if you want.

I play in my room on a little 14 inch tv about 3 feet away. I also have a 57 inch DLP HDTV and I tried playing Halo on it (and other games) and sucked a lot. I guess you just get used to a certain setup and its hard to transition to another setup.

Sadly, I haven't found a television that allows me to play well. I also happen to live by the motto, "A good carpenter always blames his tools".

    Size

As a Halo Carpenter, I am trying to figure out which tool is right for the job at hand and answer the question about television size affecting reaction time.

    Should I use this tool:

    Or this one:

Depends entirely on how close you are to it.

If your close, then the low 20's is good, but if it's on the other side of the room, then high 20's and low 30's in inches would suit you best.

I'd always buy from a company i trust, Sony, LG, Samsung.. Don't buy one because it's cheaper but sacrifice the company, because the quality won't live up to the big boys.

My 50 something inch HD 720p works pretty good.

Although when my parents arent around I resort to the 72" 1080p HD downstairs.
Now that one works wonders, makes it more easier to spot enemies. Especially in CoD WAW.

I have a 32 inch high-def and i sit usually about 5 feet from it. It's pretty solid and i've never had problems.

I played halo at my friends house the other day and he has a huge big screen and i definitely noticed it was harder to play because i was looking around a lot.

my suggestion would be to sit farther away from the screen so that the image is smaller and easier to take in.

Hmm, well I have plenty of tvs to go around in my house.

I play best on my Toshiba Tube Standard Def.

Most fun, but worst at playing is my 120 inch projector.

Best looking is my 70 something inch Pioneer Elite, except with no sound :(

I use a Samsung Ln-t4049FX. It is a 1080p 40'' LCD tv. It has a game mode which I love.

I play on a 32" 720p LG. I obviously don't have lag issues at all being a 360 user. I can see much more on this TV than I could on my standard def screen. So my game has improved since I got a hold of this TV a few months ago.

i got a 32 SD but i used to play on a 50 inch plasma(living room). I saw no differnce in my performace. All the same for me. The crisper and vibrant graphics are nice to have on the plasma tho.

its what your comfortable with dude, that is as long as you can see everything on the screen comfortably. If your into MLG, i would recommend buying the tv they officially use. I dont know the exact model, but i know it is a 22' wide-screen HD/LCD tv. Playing on that on a regular basis would definitely help your play at events, seeing as that would be the tv your most comfortable with.
