    Version Final changes/fixes/additions:


    • Fishermen spawn points turned to prevent instant fish kills.
    • Anti-cheat vastly improved.
    • Fish gravity increased to help prevent cheating.
    • More fish spawns added.
    • Fishermen spawn slightly changed.
    • Cover in water slightly adjusted.
    • Fish anti-cheat Receiver node placed in water.

    The season is right for the thousands of fish to migrate into the ponds, and the fishermen are hungry for a good catch. The fish have nothing to do but flee in their small pond as the fishermen try and make the catch of a lifetime.

    The concept for Gone Fishin' is actually pretty simplistic. Gone Fishin' is an Infection based variant. Along with the map, Fish Pond, the 'fish' (uninfected) start in a large pond underwater. The 'fishermen' start above them with sniper rifles and unlimited ammo. Fishermen try to gun down the fish that will run and hide in their pond, utilizing the water as cover and rare equipment they may find. Catching a fish (an infection) is worth a point, and becoming the last fish in the pond (last man standing) is also worth twp points. There is a three minute round set in place, so if you're a fish, try to work together to hold out against the fishermen! The map is suitable for 16 players, but I recommend keeping it to 10. I've never had more fun playing an Infection gametype and map, and I'm hoping you'll feel the same. If you find any errors, please report them here. And, as always, comments and constructive criticism are very welcome.

    Honor System:
    Yes, as with most mini-games, there is an honor system in place for Gone Fishin'. The anti-cheat barriers do their job, but people always find ways.

    Fishermen (infected)-
    May not jump into the pond.

    Fish (uninfected)-
    May not hide behind rocks.
    May not escape pond boundaries.

    this looks like it would be extremely boring for the "fish". id recomend maybe having the fisherman vulnerable an example could be he has to jump around on objects above the water to get different vantage points, where the fish could potentially attack him

    Yeah, I understand that it seems that it would seem to be that way, but it's actually a hell of a lot of fun scurrying around in the water (fish have a 150% speed), looking for equipment to save your life, and seeing bullet trails fly by your head every few seconds.

    Edit: Not to mention the incredible amount of teamwork that is needed; finding a bubble shield is a great help for the fish. At the same time, you are struggling to be the last man standing, to get the point. It's a great balance.

    Nouce. I appreciate mellow mini-games like this. It seems like the teles be jumped over, is this true? Good job anyways!

    Well, for the fish anti-cheating wall, I'm 99.99% sure that you can't jump over it. Once you get to the point of the wall, (where you would jump) there's an invisible barrier that knocks you back into the teleporter.

    As for the fishermen's anti-cheating barrier, it's not as foolproof (although it should work nearly every time). The fishermen's gravity is also set to 150% to make getting out of their area even harder, and they don't have any grenades for grenade jumping, so.

    The thing is, if you're playing a mini-game with friends, you're not worrying about cheating, but the barriers are there for those 'just in case' things, and because it's more professional and makes it seem more like I made a map than just set some spawn points around.

    Woah...

    That's very awesome. I love the idea and the flow of the gameplay. You could have told us a more detailed description like the Zombie and Human traits. You also did not mention that the human had a Sniper.

    But overall this looks like the best High Ground map ever and a superb mini-game. Excellent work, my friend.

    Does becoming the Last Fish Swimming give you any benefits? Like, faster speed, more damage resistance?

    Still, ridiculously funny concept. This would make a hella funny TGIF game.

    Very nice concept, something that I haven't seen before so props to you. Looks like I finally have a reason to go back to high ground, at last I thought this day would never come. Nice post, keep up the good work.

    amazing idea, i've tried multiple times to make maps in the water at highground and they've all been unsuccesful. yours looks like it works.

    Good idea and greatly made. It has a great concept and looks like it'll be fun. What you should do is make the fish leap out of the water for the equipment like putting weapon holders floating above the water. I'll download and use in my tgif. Good job.

    This is actually really good. It's one of those ideas where there are always gonna be loads of laughs, and as you mentioned, teamwork is critical. The combination of all of these factors make it one hell of a game

    Very nice the game type could use some work tho what does the last man standing get like the abbiltily to kill the fishers man like a killer shark or some thing i might try it out over all good job their sould be stuff floating in the water for the hunter to jump on

    Is it me or Is there a coral reef on the outside of the map? Well anyhoodles, This seems like its similar to duckhunt but not so similar that I would through up.

    This looks like a well played out map. Seems like a lot of fun. And about escaping, who cares ifits easy to escape if you really wanted to play it whats the point.

    Updated with version .2, guys. Lots of improvements, additions, and fixes added here, I highly recommend re-downloading. Some thread additions and changes as well.
