DLP plain and simple, no screen burn ever, and if you get a good one, the picture is beautiful. I have a 50" Samsung DLP and it's amazing. Wouldn't want to play Halo 3 any other way.

LCD, in my opinion, is much more easily repaired than a plasma TV. So I'm going with LCD.

No no no kids! LCD is not the solution.

I work at a TV and stereo place here in town, as it has been handed down from my grandfather, and I can 99.9% guarantee you, DLP will off of shelves in the next two years and LCD will be gone in 5 years time. There is so much more technology that can be developed with plasma rather than LCD/DLP. Hell, Toshiba is currently developing a new type of definition that can only be shown on plasma. Take my word for it, I can't give links because I'd lose my job. Plus, plasma really doesn't burn like people say it does. Unless you pause your game and leave it on your plasma television for like three hours, you'll be fine. There is very very minor screen burn, yes, but it fades within minutes. And you can't see it while doing other things anyhow. You can only catch it when your screen goes black or white. You'll wind up spending more on a DLP than either LCD or plasma, actually. Those annoying bulbs in the back of those ****ing planets-in-orbit you call televisions go out between a year and a year and a half. And they cost anywhere from $250-$500, depending on your model and make. So if you buy a $1000 DLP TV, it sounds great right? Same quality or better than LCD, lower price! Yeah, make that a $2000 TV in four years. LCD is way godly expensive when you get into larger sizes, and as I said, the technology in them is not as suitable for redevelopment than plasma is.

And this is just my opinion as a manager and being in contact with Toshiba, Sony, Pioneer, Samsung, and Sanyo for the last five years. Seriously, if you're gonna do it, go plasma. It way more worth it in the now and the future.

Greaaat. Really, really didn't need to know that.

Screen size is measured diagonally. Ergo, my HDTV is 62".

i would much rather buy an expensive tv that works, then a cheaper tv that has screen burn.

In the future, plasma will be the way to go.
But for now, plasma sucks. So I'll use LCD.

LCD. really, My uncle (who has a plasma) said that besides the image burn, the T.V. got so hot it make a huge burn mark on his bedroom wall. And I've seen pictures, too.

Side note: You could always go for a projector. Apparently Panasonic is making a HD projector specialized for Games (AKA game mode), and its really good. Granted, it only goes as high as 720p, but as far as I know, no game runs in true 1080.

Wellz. Plasma maybe good in the future. but i think for now i shall stay with my small little LCD screen. its about an Xbox 360 High and about 1 and a half Xbox 360's Long. But. thats just at the normal place i live at. see. my parents split. so i go to my dads and play on my dads projector which is taller then i am. and i am 6'1" so yeah. lolz. But like honestly. its probably 7' by 7' so if someone calculates that u shall know the size. besides that. its also got a 9.1 Surround Sound System Built to go with it. as well as a HD Dvd Player and a Hi Def Reciever. so we can watch HD channels on it. But. its quite good. last's about 4 - 8 years on the lightbulb. and well. lets just say. Playing the Wii on it is just Like ur actually there. playing the 360 on it. well. lets just say. Its not like ur there. it just makes u look like u cant see to easy. lolz! its so big its not funny. if u guyz want i can get some pictures?

Well, obviously none of you read that I said there is virtually no screen burn unless you are a noob and leave Halo on the pause screen for 3 hours. But whatever, suit yourselves when you have to buy a new TV in three years or so when I've got one that I just need to update...

the hud will leave a screen burn if you play for very long.
hd dvd is dead and a 7x7 tv would be just under 10 inches diagonly..

    You are a noob.

    1) The HUD will only leave burn if you don't switch weapons, get rid of grenades, etc. It's not a problem.

    2) He said 7 foot by 7 foot.

It depends on whether money is an option, because lcds are less expensive and last longer. Plasmas have better picture but are bad in many other ways. If you have the money, thennjust go for the plasma because then you can show off that you have one.

Actually, gobbles, it's quite the opposite.

LCD is much more expensive than plasma. Want a 52" LCD 1080p television from, oh, let's say Samsung? It's like $4500 bucks from a place like Best Buy. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage...d+50"&lp=2&type=product&cp=2&id=1184369167080

How about we get a 52" Plasma 1080p television from Samsung. Well, you'll have to suit for 50", since plasma does not come in 52". http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage...ma+52&lp=6&type=product&cp=1&id=1176506511625

    Two grand.

plasmas are cheeper because everyone knows that they suck. so no one is buying them, so they drop the prices.

Plasmas are more compact, but you've seen what the covenant have done with them...
