When I was at my desk in math class studying basic geometric constructions I began to realize that some of this knowledge could help forgers create realistic architecture and Help in the planning process of your map. For the later of the above options i highly recommend you grab yourself a compass and a ruler. This guide will be split into two different parts, Realistic architecture, and planning your map. Creating realistic architecture When developing your map, particularly aesthetics, You might feel the need to add amazingly real architecture. This can go so far in getting your map noticed. Basic things you might need to know are why triangles are the most used shape in geometry and basic angles and constructions. In the real world you might notice triangles hidden around in structures. In a suspension bridge for example, the cables from the top tower to the road level form triangles. This is not just coincidence though. Want to make something realistic. Realistically speaking structures will just, by nature, include triangles. But why? Well because of their strong base design they can hold up more pressure without collapsing. Although you don't want to worry about objects collapsing in forge, It can be great for adding neat aestetic touches and detail to your map.
The thing is, there is no way of calculating precise measurements in Halo 3. It's often measured with 'two double-wall lines to the left' or any other marking on the many objects in Forge. Now if Bungie decides to update Forge with movable Geometry tools, then that's great.
This is why we can only hope to wait for what objects the Mythic maps may have in store for us. And I'm not talking about Assembly either. If you've seen the play videos for that map, it looks too good to need to be forged on. I'm referring to the all anticipated Sandbox, the quote-on-quote "Mythic map dedicated to forge." We can only wait, it'll be released within the next couple of months, by the way.
So your saying i should put triangles in my maps? jk but your looking at this way to seriously, its a video game.
I think what he is saying it makes the map feel more real. IMO that could help flow. It could help the map's feel.
