Me and Boyle06 have decided to create a masterpiece with both our combined forging skills. Our new map is going to be called Grimace. Its a map created to satisfy elevated gameplay and its theme is the time when the first halo was destroyed. I created the layout and Boyle is helping me out with everything else. We have a 50-50 split on it. This way we both do equal work anyway heres the sketchup preview. From lookin at the birds eye view you got like a four quadrant layout design happening there. The design looks like it has some potential and i love the off centered middle where all the platforms connect. you might wanna keep in mind when your forging in the left top corner how contained it might feel for players. Also since there is so much platform space in the middle and all over the map the bottom floor looks like a death trap especially when your surrounded by 4 walls. try not to make many jump ups since its already a boxy map. looks good i hope you make it work guys.
Yes. Flow is something I am really trying hard to keep. In my past maps, there is always a lot of jumping involved and thats something I want to fix with this creation. The middle is open slightly because we are planning to include a warthog set on 180 or even Never, for asymmetrical gameplay.
Hmmm, can you get featured for a sketch-up map? lol The map looks sweet, I can't wait to see the final product. The main thing I love about this is the standing Double Walls with smaller walls or fence wals poking out at the bottom. It fits so well.
It is a fence... and yes that is the main aesthetic part of the map... there a three of those and on that is sopposed to look broken if u caught that... quite ingenous and original aesthetic i think... the area is a potential nade trap... but it gives a broken line of sight to bullets... were as you have a nice shot from the top floor dont over look the open plattforms and surrounding walls for nades to bounce off... its a (+) and a (-) so u have to work both levels of the map... with nice teamwork you can control the map... kthxbi
lol well berserk/phreakie is finishing his part then i will start mine... then there is spawn and weapon. testing revising and finally final testing release. so dont get to far ahead of yourself. now phreakie can be the one making promises. there will prob be lots of testing more than likely so im sure u can hope in specially if ur on the guild. also... there is an aspect of gameplay that i believe u guys will enjoy... well i cant wait to test it myself lol... if ur in my party and ask ill let u test. and i dont think phreakie is to picky.so aksi camo... if u view the third picture there is two openings on ground level. also that corner has a fast route to the top. it can be seen as an offensive stand or a defensive stand depending on the players
Yeah... Anyone can join my testing sessions. I'm very lenient. Only things I dont want are: 1. People trying to break or get on top of the map. 2. No douchebaggery. 3. Dont Quit in the middle unless you say you will need to before hand. Very easy rules to accomadate, but like boyle said, "Dont get to far ahead of yourself."
As everyone has already said, it looks amazing. However, there's just one thing I would change. At that blue dot, (Is that camo?) you should add a ramp up to that area. If you look at one of your overhead views, you have a ramp up to the main structure in each of the "rooms" or "pits" except in the lower-left hand corner where the blue dot is. That's all I'd change for now, seeing as I obviously haven't played it yet.
we will see what happens and yes thats camo... and it a small jump that is not their for convience... we will make them work for their camo. And i dont think their was much value in stating that b/c that won't effect gameplay much to none... kthxbi
