    Author's Forger's notes: I am done with map packs. My newest up and coming map is just taking too much time out of my days to have 3 maps at a reasonable time. With all the work this new map is taking, though, it's going to be great : ).

    The Orbital 'RAISE' 010

    (Fake) Introduction: In 2551, this storage 'shed' for equipment being shipped to Autumn was shut down due to an outbreak of Ebola Zaire, a deadly virus that haunts Africa to this day. The Elites, the only members of the covenant immune to Ebola, landed near here and set the Obt. RAISE 010 up as a makeshift bunker for surges against UNSC infantry. Now since abandoned by both virus and enemy, this bunker is now used for Combat training against all covenant troops.

    (Map) Introduction: This map is very close paced, and is recommended for 2 - 6 players. It is set up for all game types, though the recommended ones are Slayer, Team Slayer (2v2 /3v3), Infection, KOTH, and Oddball ( not good for real objective games like Territories, CTF, Assault; but compatible for them). Weapons placed on map are mainly ARs', Brs' and Carbines., and a whole mess of equipment (and all is useful, don't worry. No equipment spamming here). I will be happy to update any information you want to know upon request - just no flaming, please.

    Glitching Techniques used on map: Interlocking; IBG; Floating bases. This map is also appealing aesthetically, with a bunker outside where the Elites set up an defense against UNSC Infantry.

    Center

    A turret to the far right, this is the main area of action.

    Side Alley
    [​IMG]

    Holds OS and sword. Not as easy to get both as you think with a lot of people around, and definitely not easy to hold onto either of them.

    Sharp Corner
    [​IMG]

    Holds a 2way tele. Leading to the complete opposite side of the map.

    2 to 3 Ramp
    [​IMG]

    Shows the ramps leading from platform 2 to Platform 3. P3 holds a BR + SR and a 2way Tele. leading to the bottom level.

    Wrap Around Corner

    Inside the single box is a another shotgun, with a DC overhead.

    The Pallet holds a Rocket Launcher behind it. It is in the most hectic area of the map, and two grenades inside can easily kill a man looking for his reward.

    Looks like a pretty good map, nice use of interlocking objects. The idea is basic but not bad, the rocket launcher "pit" looks like it makes the map more balanced then most "arena" maps. Overall I give you a 4/5 for now but will tell you my full report when I am done testing it.

    Sweet, thanks man. I wasn't going for 'Map of the year' with this one, I was going for something to have some fast-paced skirmishes with some friends. 8/10 sounds about right :D.

    And interlocking wasn't that much of a pain... not like Thriller is.

    I have a question, what is there to balance out the rocket. What does everything as weapon wise spawn and clips as..i would give this from pics a 7.54365901/10.1

    Alby, you messing with me? Even if you are, I'm gonna answer your question.

    To even get to the rockets you would have to quietly take time and beat-down the pallet or toss a grenade which signals your position and leaves you less equipped, but takes less time. Almost everyone here would choose the second option because of the size of the map. All it takes for your opponent is to toss in a grenade or two into their to take down your rocket wielding foe, or at least weaken him. Even if you aren't quick enough to grenade him, there are plenty amounts of equipment to help you take him down.

    Risk = Reward in this map.

    I like the fact you have to actually work a little to get a power weapon. It would be better if Bungie gave us multi-state objects like opening/closing doors wouldn't it?

    Sure, but I would still keep the pallet there instead of a door. For some reason smashing wooden boards gives me the sense of brutality, sort of a pick me up to go along with the RL. It's like I'm the freakin' Cole Train or something >__>.

    I've tried making doors and walls that are destructible with pallets and other things but it just doesn't have the effect I wish Bungie would have given us.

    Idk, doors sort of feel un-Haloish, like they don't belong in a Run 'n' Gun shooter. Who wants to waste time turning a knob wen you can burst through it like Al Capone?

    Thanks bra, I tried to interlock so that if you leaned against the wall all the way through, you would have a fairly smooth ride. I think I did my job nicely.

    Well I agree that doors like on the old N64 007 games were too slow and hindered tactics, the doors on Gemini worked well, I thought. The doors included with Forge are the same as the ones from the campaign and worked like Gemini doors. Maybe they would not fit this map but I have a few ideas where doors would complement nicely.

    I technically did use doors there, if you'de look again - just not in the conventional way. And also, you are correct - the slow doors would make the Risk >>>> Reward.

    I wasn't in the Gemini generation, sorry - Idk what your talking about >__>.

    Halo 2-Gemini Covenant multiplayer map...no big.
