Heavy Lift Gear is my first competitive map that I'm posting on Forgehub. I started during June last year. The reason it took so long to finish is because I had a break from Forgehub to build Racetracks for Halotracks.org. I know a few people such as BlazeizGod and Dave the Rave52 have seen it. Map Name: Heavy Lift Gear Players: 2-4 max Gametypes supported: One Flag, and all FFA gametypes Base map: Foundry Download Link: ~ Download Map Here ~ Weapon Spawns: - About 3-4 BR's scattered around - 2 Snipers on lowest ammo (Asymmetric) - 1 Sniper on low ammo (Symmetric) - Gravity Hammer - 2 Maulers (at different sides) - Brute Shot (Symmetric) - 2 SMG's Ok, writing descriptions isn't my favourite thing to do so i'll keep it nice and brief and let the pics tell the whole story. Heavy Lift Gear is a very small map located in the corner of Foundry. The reason I started building the map here was because I thought it would be a great idea to make the "Window-room" into a sort of spectator box and build a nice neat FFA map around that. The structure of the map was basically designed to have aesthetics that demonstrated a "warehouse". I think I did a good job on achieving this (The conveyor Belt - see screenshot below). The map has a walkway with a tunnel underneath, which is one of my favourite parts. There is a small undercut of the wall which allows people to weed out campers by bouncing 'nades underneath. Overall I would recommend that you play this map on FFA gametypes; mainly Slayer and Oddball. Ok, here are the pics:
Looks very much worth a Download. I like in the first picture, how you merged that wall next to the windows, and the stairs in the floor look really cool also.
To be honest, this looks like a hell of a map. I like the look of the merged conveyor belt, mainly because it's different and I was also expecting a Pallet Parade conveyor belt but I think it looks better , reminds me of the plasma barrel thingies from Colossus in H2. Normally i would now suggest something to fix aesthetics and then test it but i don't see anything wrong here great job.

This map is amazing excellent merging geo-merging ect... and hall way were you can chuck a grenade under genius ....and i don't have any bad remarks over all this is a 5/5 for me and a dl.
Wow, this looks really nice. I can see where it would play extremely well for objective games. I'll download, and come back with my review.
Ok, but if you are reviewing it remember it doesn't support all objective gametypes. Only one flag. Also if you want to get the most out of this map try it with FFA gametypes.
AWESOME! I love the Little stair belt you made for the crates And the fact that you use walls instead of boxes... I like that 5/5 I'm gonna download and test it out with friends
This is a freakin good map I love the boxes on the stairways like collosus. I hope this is featured!6/5
I'm gonna start off by saying that your aesthetics are really great, i can tell from my forge through that you have what it takes to make great maps. My only comment on the forging is that your double box wall could have been pushed into the foundry outer wall rather than using 2 doors to fill the gap, and I'm not a fan of the gap between the boxes and the wall corners around the top. That being said your map is very tiny, and going along with tiny you have lots of fusion coils and propane tanks everywhere. I'm fine with a few but this map has one if not two coils or tanks on almost every turn. That combined with the hammer and all the grenades makes me think it will hinder gameplay a little. Aesthetic rating - 4/5 Map rating - 3/5(to small for me) Anyway, KEEP forging.
Thaks Thanks for the review. I know what you mean about the doors. The reason for that is because my budget glitch went crazy on me and stopped spawning anything. I used the doors that I had just being geomerging with.
Very interesting map, reminds me of collossus with the conveyor belts, Ill have to dl and give you a in-depth review but so far it is a 5/7 nothing against the map but I am biased against foundry maps.
ll lol, well then you are biased against a lot of maps. My next map is going to be a bit of a twist on Rat's Nest so maybe you'd like that better. Thanks for reviewing ^_^ edit: Oh, and a lot of people have commented saying that they like the "collossus style" conveyor belt =)
This map is crazy dude. First, I have to say the geomerging is incredible, it's so clean and straight, I can hardly write this because I'm drooling all over my computer. My favorite feature of the map is all of the little hidey holes, that are geomerged into the map, where you can hide away, too bad they have fusion coils in em. Anyway, another thing I like is the incredible original structures and merges. Double walls in stairs, fence wall in walls in walls, walls in fence walls, window panels in walls in window panels, shield doors in walls, the sexy floating hammer, and of course, like everything in the map! Anyway, I just cant say anything more about this map, except that an overview of the map would have been helpful. I DLed and took a look at it anyway.
