Grifball Created by BurnieBurns I'm sure that many of you have already seen this, but I believe the game is a load of fun and worthy of a shoutout on Forge Hub. Grifball was created by the great folks at Rooster Teeth Productions, home of RvB. The game has a simple premise, while the premise may be simple when it is put into action it's a lot of fun. The map and gametype may very well become a "competitive sport" via Halo 3. Below are the rules for Grifball as stated by Burnie on the Rooster Teeth Grifball thread. RULES OF GRIFBALL Grifball is a simple game. Two teams of 3-4 players square off in a simple arena in which each team has a goal. The object is to take the ball in the middle of court and put it in the other team's goal. 1. Scoring a goal earns one point and ends the round. 2. Each match consists of five rounds. The team with at least three points at the end of five rounds wins the match. 3. Each player has a gravity hammer and an energy sword (secondary). 4. Damage is set to 300% with player health set to 10%. One direct hit will kill a player. 5. Dead players respawn in three seconds at their own goal. 6. The ball carrier has a 3x Overshield, 150% speed and turns orange for some reason. 7. Friendly players can hurt each other. Learn to use your radar. 8. In the unlikely event that a player finds themselves thrown outside of the arena (beyond the wall), find a teleporter. It will drop you out in the middle of the arena. Play is not suspended when a player goes out of bounds. It is your duty to return to play. 9. If a ball carrier goes out of bounds, they must return to play within 30 seconds (judged by time on Save Film) or they forfeit the entire match. If they leave the ball beyond the wall, it will reset within 30 seconds. Play is not suspended while the ball or ball carrier is out of bounds. Uh.. I'm 98% sure that Burnie Burns didn't give this to you. In fact, you even say you took the description from the thread he made on Rooster Teeth's forum. So.. Whaddafxup?
The ball carrier turn orange because Griff is orange. I read in the Bungie update that They came up w/ the name using one of Sarge's lines from RvB ("This is the greatest game since Grifball!")
He didn't give it to me. If you haven't read which it is apparent you haven't, Forge Hub features all maps that are of quality. We are trying to build a database of quality maps for users to browse through. Last time I checked this is a quality map. Also note the description of this section in the forum. "Discuss the newest and various maps featured on Forge Hub." It doesn't say made by the Forge Hub Guilders.
lol I love RvB and these kinds of games are fun. It is a lot funner with gravity hammers though. Swords just ruin it.
Has anyone played yet? It sounded really fun from the description. I had an invite to play it but i was busy forging...
from the title of Offical Hub Releases, i figured they would only be...officla hub releases...whatever havent played yet, but looks fun
great...but why dont u make a subboard for non-FH maps mabe, then it would be well-devided, and people could easily pick out between Featured and FH Made maps
I'm pretty stoked for this map/gametype. Is anyone willing to give it a whirl tonight? Maybe a few rounds and follow it up with some of Insane54's Quidditch .. **Hint Hint** I'll most likely be on tonight if anyone wants to shoot me an invite.
Great game, like a sport if you play it right. Potential for formations and manoeuvres and so on. It's lots of fun, but I don't think I can play it for more than 20 minutes at a time though.
Or it could result in Random destruction and Yavi screams... also the Guilders suck as a team at this... just to note...
Very, very true. Continue the EPIC screams Yavi... and for those that are new, you know Yavi likes that map when he's screaming his head off.
