So really, what are the forging community's thoughts on Halo 1 or 2 remakes and throwbacks in Forge? Normally foundry, but some of the larger maps have been made on Avalanche, and that was cool. Do they fit in competitive? Casual or Aesthetic maybe? Do we need more? Less? 3, 2, 1.. Go!
i love remakes... that are built with the same intense care and skill that some of our featured maps are built with... the problem is that most people who do remakes dont hit the quality bar where i'd like them to.
Woah, relax. Just asking opinions, initiating a discussion And to thesilence, I know right? I've been searching for a Beaver/ Battle creek, and there are no.. good ones. Everything is sloppy. Some of the worst ones were just awful. :S
I really would love too see nice remakes of the original maps from halo 1 and 2. There was one map on halo1 that had like to sides that were floating in mid air, and to get from one side to the other you had to take teleporters. It was like a high wall with floors.
I don't like forged remakes, but I like the Bungie remakes (e.g. CS and Blackout). Forged remakes just lack the aesthetic quality of the originals (well no ****, but still...), and usually the quality. They're not bad, they're just not original or pretty.
Funny when I think of Beaver Creek I think of TBS for some reason... Anyways, I adore well made remakes. If you could only find a remake that has neat forging, keeps gameplay as close to the same as the original, and isn't Midship. Uhg, I've seen way too many Midship remakes. I mean it's a good level and all, but try and branch out a little bit...
Remakes can rock or suck depending on the time you put into the forging proccess. Didn't a halo 2 map remake get featured? Foundation I think.
That foundation one was one of the few good ones, but Foundry is so small it just doesn't seem to work as well. I commend those who try and do something different with it though, like Bungie and Blackout, or Last Resort.
