    Due to Scyphozoan's size, default Capture the Flag isn't recommended without certain changes. A gametype, called Scypho-Flag, has been preset with changes and can be found here.

    A custom Oddball variant called Envy is also recommended. The only way to score is by killing the ball carrier, or killing someone by beating someone down with the ball. Envy is available here.

    Map Description
    (a.k.a. "Wall 'o' Text")

    Scyphozoan is a follow up to my previous map, Protozoan. Scyphozoan, previously known as Parazoan, is half rotational symmetrical and ordinary symmetrical map. Scyphozoan is based for 2 vs 2 games, 1 vs 1 games, and up to 4 player Free For All. Scypho-Flag makes for a very fun Multi-Flag experience. Envy is also an enjoyable gametype, allowing for hard hitting action, tense stalemates, and many stealthy "WTF!" moments. Scyphozoan has actually been in testing since mid September.

    the screenshots alude to none of the map due to the flashyness of the action taking place in them. try taking pics and action pics.
    looks really messy from what i can see

    okay, toooooo many action pics and not enough about the map. and stop putting the name in the pic, its just annoying.
    judging on the 3 pics its okay but sloppy. and in some of the gameplay pics the walls are crooked. il DL anyway

    You know, in order to download a map you have to actually download it right? Because according to Bungie I'm the only one with it on my Hard Drive...

    I think the map is Good. ( i say 'good' because i hate small enclosed maps, but other than that the interlocking is great) Also the Envy the game type sounds exactly like juggernaut and you said juggernaut was not reccomended? Also just wondering if there was any geo-merging? I will rate it a 4/5 because as i said before i hate small enclosed maps.

    Edit: i took a second look to see if I missed any thing and I was wondering about the "piller" that is for spawning. You could probably get out of the map from there because the border around the map is only one box higher than that piller and you could probably grenade jump out.

    I think that the boxes are high enough that if you tried to jump out you would hit the roof barrier.

    The map looks bigger than you make it seem with the action pictures. I think 3 vs 3 would still work on this map without really altering gameplay for the worse. I'm not a big fan of small enclosed maps, but this looks better than most so congrats for making one of the better ones. 4/5, it's a good map.

    Thanks to the over hang from the boxes above it, you can't grenade jump out of the box. You can grenade jump into it from the bases, but since the other side facing the rest of the map is blocked off it's a really bad camping spot. Plus if you tried to camp there, a couple nades could easily take you out.

    Well, the ball carrier doesn't have higher shields, and he can only get point with beat downs, so it encourages more close combat.

    Thanks, I hope you can get a game on it and tell me how it plays.
    3 vs 3 might work, but I think it would be too crowded in objective games, like CTF. Honestly I never tried anything over 5 player FFA, and that was almost not enough elbow room.

    I think he put enough screenshots to actually see how this map looks. action shots are still screenshots arent they ? well anyways i really like the looks of this map and i hope it has a bright future *cough*Feature*cough* this adds another masterpiece in forge into my harddrive.

    Hey cool! You posted it. I liked this a lot. It was good for 2v2, and I'm sure a 1v1 could be good as well. Great map. It could use some tighting up in a few areas, but nothing too bad.

    gameplay
    I really love the way this map flows, when you look at it from the pics you would think it would just be a bunch of goose chasing,but its not.you also think that the maluer would lead to camping,but theres a gap above the shield doors to fix that. gameplay gets a solid 4/5




    aesthetics (looks)
    there is some hardcore interlocking and geomerging,nothing short of premiem standerds.my only question is did you fix those bridges at the bases?i really like the pillers that you ometimes spawn in. 3.5/5


    weapons
    I think you couldnt have chose a better weapn set if you had god helping you. I also think the euipmant chose is great. 4.5/5



    this map is an exelent map and is certinly worth the download. 4/5

    Thanks someone sees that screenshots actually show gameplay. I'm trying to get a video put together to show off the gameplay even more :p

    As for the feature part, I'm not sure the map is ready for it yet, or that it will ever be. I think that some places could've been a little better, but I've been tweaking thinks since September so I just wanted it out there.

    Thanks, your actually in a bunch of pictures from all the testing. AS for the adjustments yeah, I think I'll release a version 3 (that's right 3, this is 2, 1 is just buried 20 pages back). It'll have to wait because I really want to release my map Decima, that's also been in the works for awhile. So after that look for the next "zoan" map.

    Thanks for the review! Imaginary rep for you! Actually there isn't any geomerging, but shh gotsta to keep on the down low.
    No I didn't fix those bridges *sadface* but look out for version 3, or as of right now, Metazoan.

    I have played several games on the map, and it plays real nicely for 2v2. I think it may be a little small for anything more than that though.

    The layout is unique, and it has a very different feel to it than most maps. It kind of reminds me of a mini epitaph. Dont ask me why. The center hill makes for the most interesting kind of gameplay there is. the construction of the map is a little sloppy, and i know it could be tighter, but im sure that will come the more you forge.

    The lower area to me feels a little crowded in some areas sometimes. the single boxes shaped like stars are somewhat unneccessary to me, but they dont kill the map or anything.

    The weapons you chose work very well for the map. I didnt find any balance issues or anything, and they lend themselves useful in every occasion. As for gametypes, i find that the map plays best with King of The Hill. I dont usually even like King of the Hill, but this map feels right for it.

    anyways, i liked the final product, and im interested in seeing your future work. keep forging :)

    Thanks for the review. I didn't really take much from epitaph except the shield doors. That's where I got the idea to hide the thick line in the wall.

    I remember playing this with you. Did you fix where you can get out? And did you move the flag spawns like I said? I didn't really like the shield doors,but game play was great 4/5

    Done, done, and done... And gameplay was the focus of this map, I need to smooth some things out, but the gameplay is huge on Scyphozoan.

    This map looks pretty good man. I'm going to have to download this and try it out though, I havn't had the chance. I thought that the bridge floors looked a little bit to bumpy, that can really make a map annoying.
