Fortress 2 This is my first real attempt at making a map. And I know, the title isn't very creative. There's zero use of geomerging or a budget glitch. It has VERY little use of interlocking; two objects, to help with giving a little more space. You'd probably never even recognize the objects that were interlocked. It was originally inspired by classic Perfect Dark maps, but it didn't turn out how I had imagined it. It's a symmetrical map, or as possibly symmetrical as I could make it. It has multiple levels with open boxes used as tunnels on the ground floor. The tunnels have a few shield doors throughout. There's a central vertical shaft that leads into these tunnels where players can drop down on enemies or escape up it via deployable grav lift. There are also teleporters in each back room area that send you to the middle of the map. Version one had the back hall open to pass through to both sides and a Sword in the center of two shield doors, however, this ruined objective-based gametypes. In Fortress 2, the back hall is again closed off and the Sword removed. The map now works with all gametypes and game variants very well. Weapon set includes: - Shotgun - Rocket Launcher - Battle Rifles - Brute Shots - Plasma Rifles - Sniper Rifles - Needlers - Pistols - SMGs Equipment: - Overshield - Power Drain - Grav Lift - Trip Mine - Plasma Grenades - Spike Grenades - Frag Grenades Sorry about being the only star of these screens... I would take 2 of them out in my opinion Also I would have loved for you to interlocked this a little bit more and flipped the boxes over for smoother gameplay Nice job on this map though
this map is cool i know you see stuff like this everywhere but this is one of my favoourites good job, keep forging
you should submit this to the next lazy mapmakers contest... just take out the little bit of interlocking that you did do... 4/5
I apologize if I put this in the wrong forum. Now I'm confused as to what this forum's definition of "competitive" is. In the subtitle of this forum it states you may find maps similar to ones in matchmaking. This map has basically the same weapon set as Foundry, which is in matchmaking playlists. I like diverse weapon sets. Please tell me where I should put this kind of map, as all of my maps(so far) have just as many or more power weapons in their set. And thank you for the feedback.
Don't worry too much about the weapon set - I trust you've playtested this map and if you see it works, then it works. I'm a bit confused by the layout and will download, but does it use all of foundry? Because it looks like you can easily just jump out.
