Tell me if this is done already, but i don't think it has. download the trap here Bungie.net : Bungie Online : Halo 3 File Details Looking at all the switch's recently i have noticed that all of the triggers are visible. A lone pallet lying on the floor, or a custom power-up next to a dumpster. Well i have solved the problem of Noticeable switches that people can dodge if it is a trap, or easily get if it is part of a puzzle. Credit goes to goatsnuts and l Zero Fox l, who have come up with the wire and dumpster cannon part of this switch. This switch is a useful variation of their switch. First i will show you pics of the trap in work. A room with a dumpster, yet no power-up blocking it, and the supposed trigger, is no where near the kill zone. The test subject steps in. He sees the power-up, wanting to set off the trap, but is slightly confused about what it does. All of a sudden the dumpster flies at him. Without realizing it he has set of the switch. Know for the inner mechanism. This trap is basically a wire switch, where when you get near the object, it sends a bump along a row of connecting other objects to touch a dumpster with a man cannon spawned in it. The big part of this switch though is the truck under the bridge. apparently you can still bump objects through the bridge. Also i should note that there is no other way to set this trap off other than by walking or driving on it. download here Bungie.net : Bungie Online : Halo 3 File Details
so let me get this straight, yoou step on the bridge, which bumps the truck, and that bumps all the barrels whichin turn taps the dumpster and makes it fly across the room killing anything in its path? thats pretty genious but what if they dont touch the part with the truck?
that is very cool and complicated. altho is this post meant for you to trick your friends or is this to teach us? but its good both ways, good job with the trap machine
wow you get a cookie, the fact that it uses a truck, one of the most unused pieces of equipment out there and no powerup is cool. Since it requires a lot of materials but there not needed the budget is your problem instead of wasting valuable equipment now you can do a lot more switches in a trap map. Wouldn't this also work for a elevator?, this is gonna be used in a lot of saw maps i bet, it's so genius 5 unsuspecting noobs out of 5
This is a pretty good wire switch but unless your not from Halo3Artificer shouldn't you give credit to goatnuts for discovering how to do this? (I would post a link to the thread but I'm using a wii to type this ) 5/5 for the map though.
interesting? The whole idea is amazing, i wonder how you came up with the anatomy of this switch? This is very cool, i like it. But i still don't quite get how it works?
meaga thumbs showed me this yesterday. I was like let' walk across and I was all like dead. This can be used for many different things. It's a very unique and complicated switch.
glad you all like it, and sorry i have not been to H3artificers, I only knew how to make the wire switch from a friend. Credit has been given to those who i have been told made parts of the switch. also you dont have to use a bridge, you can make it alot less noticeable by putting it in a open box. i just used a bridge to show the switch better. and to the question about not stepping on the area with the truck, well you can put more trucks, or make the area they go over as wide as a truck so that is the only way across.
i still dont figure out how it works.. it looks very tricky, and like a trap .. you could put a whole thing of weapons over ther so like all the stupid ppl and guests willl die
Making wires go up through boxes is alot of work to do, Nice job on that. Yea, this has been done by people on H3artificers. No one ever uses it so it makes it special having a wire. Shame they can only be used once. Good wire switch.
so when you touch the bridge it touches the truck moving the barrels which moves the dumpster causing the mancannon to spawn inside it causing the dumpster to fling at you.
You got most of it right. The mancannon is set to Spawn at Start: No. So when it does spawn inside/near the dumpster, the dumpster doesn't "register" it as being there. But when the barrels "tap" the dumpster, the game registers the mancannon as being on the dumpster and in return, the dumpster comes flying out into its prey. In other words...Big blue thing no spawn at start, so trash thing no know its there so when guy walks on truck truck move thingys which hit trash thingy so trash thingy knows big blue thingy is there and get scared and runs.[For the Forgely challened.]
oh i get it i had it almost right its as if you had a crate and it spawned at start but there was a streetcone in the middle of it and it didnt spawn at start and it was 10 seconds so if u pushed the crate it would make the cone spawn xO
the fact that it is hidden is what is different, i agree it is like any other switch, except you will never know when you set it off. the simplest things can amaze thousands.
I love this idea. I have been looking for something that i can use to destroy a grav lift without shooting it to spawn another that opens a dumpster door. This seems like a great idea, using the wire technology to launch a dumpster (or a fusion coil) at whatever or whoever you want to kill. Also, great job using a truck in a trap.
