LOL! I got a Wii for Christmas. But just 3 days ago, I was playing my firneds PS3 and the controller...felt so weird and small. We were playing Ressitance 2 and I was doing great. Seeing as I used to have a PS2. The controller for the PS3 is too small, the reason it felt so small for me was because I have been so used to be playing an Xbox 360 controller.

The Wii is good, but gets a little boring after a while. I got 4 games, my favourite is Sonic: Unleashed but you have lives in it. >:| If you lose all of them, you have to start at the beginning of the level. It's frustrating at sometimes, but I just turn it off then.

But yeah, since I got a Xbox 360 last year for Christmas, and a Wii for the most recent Christmas, I'd have to say that they are doing better than the PS3 at the moment. Much Better.

    Good features:

PS3: Blu-ray and Singstar( but if Microsoft has brought out Lips which in my opinion a lot better; Wireless Mics and you can download songs.)

Wii: Mario, Motion sensor, cheap and fun.

Xbox360: Xbox Live(ie. friends, marketplace and the fact you can do this from xbox.com), exclusive games, controller to fit your hands.

Now depending on what kind of person you are and what your needs are, you can't really say what console is better, because if you are a hardcore gamer, the PS3 and wii are definitely not for you. If you are a casual gamer the wii and PS3 are for you. If you want family fun for a cheaper price the wii and 360 are for you. If you want a cheap blu-ray player the PS3 is for you.

Yes, sony has done it to themselves by making the console too expensive for some, their online gaming is worse then the original xbox's was. Their only decent exclusive games are Singstar, little big world and Resistance.

The Wii have brought in the people that never used to buy consoles. Especially with Wii fit, Mario, Wii Sports. The things that are really bringing down the wii is the dialog in some games, you have to read it while Mario is talking jiberish and that the graphics are the same as the gamecube.

I have always been a nintendo fanboy, I love Mario, I loved so many games on the N64 when I was little, but the 360 to me has won the latest console battle. Halo 3, Gears, Tekken 6, Lips, just a selected few that have made those boring days come alive.

To me I think that the ranking goes somewhat like this.

    360 > N64 > PS2 > Xbox > PS1 > Wii > PS3 > Gamecube

I fully agree with you jay for the most part.
I'd assume a 'casual gamer' wouldn't be willing to fork out roughly $700 to get a PS3 and a decent game. As far as it being a cheap blu ray player, as far as I'm aware, Blu Ray players are going for about $100 less than a PS3. (Although I got mine during a sale with an additional discount, which ended up being around the same price as a stand alone Blu Ray player, but that's beside the point.) If you're wanting something to play Blu Ray movies(nothing else), you're better off getting a stand alone Blu Ray player because if you're getting the PS3 for that reason, you're making a large mistake. A remote controller is sold separately and it's a blu ray remote, not an infared. Infared remotes are available though, yet to use them you have to plug in a receiver for it. As a blu ray player, the PS3 is not user friendly. There's a delay when you give it a command; something nothing wants. Additionally, if you're wanting to put your PS3 in an entertainment unit, you're gonna need some space to squeeze your arm it to turn it off and on from the back, unless you just want to keep it on standby all the time.

    You forgot Metal Gear :p

While Nintendo still haven't really gotten a hang of Dialogue, you're right. They've attracted a huge variety in their audience. To me I think that the ranking goes somewhat like this.

    I couldn't agree more.

    I think you mean;
    360 > Dreamcast > N64 > PS2 > Xbox > PS1 > Wii > PS3 > Gamecube

    Atari 2600 > 360 > Dreamcast > N64 > PS2 > Xbox > PS1 > Wii > PS3 > Gamecube

Yeah I'm kicking it old school style. :D

I hope you are kidding because those had the most unresponsive controls I have ever played. I was playing frogger and I was sitting there for 5 minutes and I dont think i even moved him (It was a frog game of some sort, so Im going with frogger)

Also my dad said when those controllers didnt work he used to grab it by the cord and smash the controller on the cement floor.

    Yea, there that bad

I've gotta agree with you on your top 3, followed shortly by Xbox, Wii, PS2, PS1, PS3, Gamecube

Because lets face it.... Gamecube just sucked.

Actually the Wii and the Gamecube has made the toughest consoles out there.

I think he just said the earliest console he could find on the net to try to make himself sound cool among the other gaming nerds...

My Dreamcast vote as second place is legitimate...

First gaming console to go online, without it we wouldn't have what we know as XboxLive today, if at all.

It had the best graphics of it's time, better than the PS2 in my opinion. The only reason the PS2 did was because it had a DVD player built in.

The Wii is fun and durable.... Gamecube was just durable.

Nintendo products in general work well.

Just because they're tough, doesn't mean they're good.

They suck, period. I'm more confused as to after nearly 20 years they still haven't implemented dialogue.

I find this video rather amusing and true: http://www.collegehumor.com/video:1771349

On a side note, I got to play Little Big Planet yesterday.

Nintendo likes to make profit from their systems, so they don't install high end graphics chips into their systems....therefore allowing them to sell them at a cheaper price point and enticing a wider target audience.

    [edit]:THAT IS AMAZINGLY TRUE!!!

Despite having to wait about half an hour for the PS3 to load it, load the updates and then load even more updates, it was disappointing.I only got like 4 levels deep but I just wasn't enjoying myself. It's cute. The narrator is amusing. I didn't really know what to expect, I hadn't really looked into it but plenty of people told me to get it.

Yeah, in Mario Party 8 there's a minigame where you must shake the wiimote up and down, the same motion as if you were masturbating. The aim of the game is to shake your can of drink the fastest for 10 seconds. When the time is up, everyone's can explodes, whoever's can explodes the highest wins.
    ...Yeah, lol.
