This map is my very first forge creation. In fact, I just signed up for Xbox Live yesterday - I kid you not. Anyway, as a new player and forger, I look to you, the veterans of ForgeHub, for guidance.
I created this map just within the budget and as you will see, it has the two original bases / spawn areas of foundry blocked off. I believe I only used "interlocking" on two things - mostly because I am new to this all and didn't want to mess it up. I mostly put BRs on the map, but also placed two snipers, two carbines, two needlers, a sword, a rocket launcher, and a shotgun. There are also grenades that are strategically placed. Note that the respawn times of the weapons are not final and you should probably toy with them or set them to some sort of official times so they play well. I have not really tested this out much - since I just finished making it, so I urge you to make whatever weapon placement or time changes you think are fit if you choose to play this map. This map is created for team slayer, but could be used for balanced objective games or neutral ones, but not one-sided asymettrical ones. This is a good map for anywhere from 1v1 to 6v6, but definitely is best for 2v2 to 4v4.

This first picture is from where team A spawns. You can just barely see the sword in the right side of the picture, on top of that wire spool. The man-cannon, depending on how you jump into it, can send you to a variety of locations.

This second picture is just the same thing as the first one, but from the perspective of team B.

Below, one can see the sword, the turret and the rocket launcher (in the bottom-middle, through the passageway.

Here is the B-side sniper tower and only overshield spawn. On side A, instead of overshield, there is invisibility. The barriers are not set to instantly respawn, keeping the sniper vulnerable and on the move. At the furthest back of those barriers, leaning on the wall is where the sniper is. Behind that door across the bridge is the carbine, and on the bridge is a green healing device (sorry, forgot the name).

Here, you can see the sniper at the back, the thing that I forgot the name of, and the carbine.

Below, you can see that side A is identical.

In this picture, you can see the center area and the rockets, which are pointing towards where that center area is where the sword spawns.

This is a bit more zoomed out, and just outside of this picture at the very bottom middle, there would be a shotgun.

Here is the needler overlooking the stairs that lead to B-side sniper tower. One can easily jump from the stairs up to the needler spawn, where frag grenades also spawn.

The picture below is looking out from one sniper tower into the direction of the other. Those fusion coils at the bottom, which can also been faintly seen on the other side, when blown up - destroy that barrier, revealing a crack through which players have a nice vantage point.

EDIT: I just realized, after playing with some friends, that you could get out of the map since the spool was there, so I got rid of it. I linked the new version - the only difference is that the sword is now on the ground.
Also, thank you guys for this warm welcome.

welcome to forgehub! im glad youve decided to join your comunity, and if you have any questions, feel free to send them to me in a PM. please check out forging 101 for some of the tricks that will make your map exactly how youd like it, and once youve done interlocking enough its REALLY east, and fast too. youll get the hang of it. i like a few areas of the map, but a few of the delivery methods are poor, where things could have been really straight, but arent. simple interlocking could easily fix this, but the barriers used on the side catwalks are new, and very simple, i suggest making a version 2 with everything straighter, the boxes flipped for a smoother and consistent walking surface, the bridges flipped, and also test the map and have it ready for the person to downloada and play to perfection right away, so as youre map can meet the requirements to be featured on the from page.

Wow if this is your first map I give it a 4/5!I think if you learned how to interlock and geomerge and you remake the map it could turn out very good. But next tiem focus on the weapon placement I saw that you put a sword and rockets right basically right next to each other.

So just for the record, what douchebag came in here and one-starred this thread? This is pretty amazing for a first map!

I really like how much work you put into making the map symmetrical, and how you made sure that the weapons were balanced out across both sides. I like that you seem to have put a lot of effort into aligning things properly, and attempted a few interlocks as well. You seem to have done a good job floating things like the bridges, and the map as a whole looks pretty good.

The only thing left to do now is practice, practice, practice! I know you can interlock and float, you may want to look here and here for some more critical tricks for a serious forger. These techniques will aid you greatly in the future. Also, you may want to look at some other members map for guidance. Look at a few of the featured maps for examples of a good way to lay spawns and weapon placements. You map seems to be a little heavy on the power weapons =)

Keep at it and I'm sure you'll be a great forger. This is incredible for your first map, keep it up!
