    A small, tactical slayer map.

    The gametype is barely different from regular Slayer, but you also have a Magnum, and respawn times are down. This is to create a more fast paced game, as it would usually only be between four people-ish.



    Map Description:

    Courtyard is a simple map that I made for my friends and I to play in, and I got some good feedback, so I'll post it.

    It's basically just a square map, made up of an open floor in the middle with an open box containing shield doors and an active camo. Around it is a square of ledges, stairs and balconies - basically something like a courtyard surrounded by a castle type thing. To the right, (depending on which way you look at it, but I mean from the reciever node, and - never mind.) there is a ramp going up to a balcony overlooking the map. Plasmas and a few Stickies lie around, along with a hidden Rocket Launcher, although it has limited ammo to make it fairer. A Hammer lies at the bottom centre of the map. Also, there is a floating sniper ledge in the middle accessible only from the Grav Lift/ Man Cannon setup above the centre box. On the opposite side of the balcony is a box with two acsending staircases on each exit, which often leads to tactical encounters and ambushes. A Shotgun lays on top of this.

    Although mainly suited for four, it could support from 2 to about 8.

    I know some parts are a smidgeon untidy, but this is my first actual map, so please don't be too harsh.

    Hello and welcoem to forgehub. I am glad to see new members read the rules and guidelines. I also like the idea of your map. I think map looks like it doesn't have much cover, and needa to tidied up. In the second picture the wall barrier needs to be tidied* up. and what weapons and gametypes does this map have on it and support

    I did make one, although it is best suited for just regular slayer.
    I'll get it up as soon as.

    Weapons on map: 2 BRs, a Sniper, a Shotgun, a Hammer, a 2 rocket R Launcher, Needler, Mauler, Plasma Pistol, three Magnums and I think 3 sets of Plasmas and 2 sets of Stickies.

    Well, you said it. Uneven walls, open corners, and crooked boxes keep people from downloading maps. If you knew it wasn't polished, why post it? The post's title is only supposed to have the map name, the description goes in the body.

    Overall the map looks bland. No real layout that is interesting and it kills to see all the crookedness. If you straightened this a little, perhaps learned to interlock in Forging 101, and came up with a novel feature, this would be worthy of a DL. As of now, though, its not.

    Fair enough. I'm in the process of changing it anyway, so I'll put some new stuff in and tidy it up an awful lot. It's sort of hard to fix it in some places, a sort of "Jenga" effect, which originally was not a problem, cause it was just a map for me and my friends. Thanks for an honest opinion.

    Yeah lol, sorry, couldn't think of a better word. I meant if I try and move one thing, then I have to move another, and then another and it goes on, because most parts of the map are connected.

    Yeah, I do have a small amount of interlocking, but I didn't use it much because I was kinda wary of my own clumsiness. I only used it in this map for corners and such, to make it all fit together.

    Yeah I agree with everyone else.. Tidy it up a bit, and maybe a little bit more in the description. The pics really dont do this map justice. It just looks bland and lop-sided. SORRY if I sound cruel.

    First off, as everyone else has said, you need to tidy up a bit. Other than that, I think that some scenery would help the map's aesthetics a lot and boost the playability a little. More stuff needs to be in the courtyard so everyone who goes there isn't screwed.
