Hey guys I've been working on this map ever since I got my x-box back about 9 days ago. Its only about 30% done! so keep that in mind. I think that the map is turning out good, and If you guys want to comment about the map or have any suggestions feel free to give them. Now keep in mind that its only about 30% done. Hey in the structure of the last picture, I see a faint blue glow. Is that a mancannon? If so, does it shoot you anywhere other than straight into the doublebox opposite of it?
umm everything is good here. merging and stuff looks clean buttt exept for that wall double. it looks bad how its half in half out. maybe you should fix that. i know its troublesome but ittlll look better in the end
I think this will turn out very nice, your interlocking and geomerging skills are above average, and I like how your layout is turning out so far. I really dont think you are 30% done so far I would say for a competitive map you are about 20% through lol
yeah that is a man cannon and im thinking about puting a rocket where it will shoot you, also it will shoot you to a ledge. See im glad you brought that up, ive been debating on if I should straiten it or not, I think i might merge it into the ground agian, Then it might look better. Thanks
Everything looks perfect, but that doesn't mean it will be perfect. No offense, I'm just saying that hopefully you don't spend most of your time on improving the interlocks, and mastering the merging, rather then creating various types of game play, flow, and theme. Its really what great maps like these need these days. Forgers spend immense amounts of time on perfecting the objects, rather then perfecting how people play with the objects. Though it is Aesthetically pleasing as can be. Your structures are original and creative. I just hope that you put them there with some sense of mind of how it will affect the map, rather then the players viewing pleasures. I'll be anticipating the release of this.
thanks a lot and I understand, i too agree that the gameplay in todays maps arent nearly as fun. Im trying to make it as creative, but also make it playable as possible. I've already got a lot of people wanting to help test my map, and I'll try to go from what they think about it. Im almost positive that the gameplay will be fun but I dont really know. Ive read tons of guides, watched tons of videos, and so much more on forging techniques, how to make your maps have fun gameplay, etc.. I think I fully understand how to make it work. And im trying to make the map as much fun to me as it would be to anyone else. Im hopping everyone will enjoy it and I've worked so hard on this. Glad you like it.
Well that is great to hear. Its excellent to know that you take pride in your work, rather then bragging. I'm confident that you can make a successful map now, seeing you've soaked up all the knowledge about forge you can possible withstand. Just keep that in mind whenever creating a single object, either from a weapon to a double box. Ask your self, how can this affect the map? Will it be good or bad? I'll be glad when this is posted, and will definitely take the time to play it then review it.
Well thanks a lot, im really happy to see that others are proud of it too. Ill probably be adding and deleting a lot of creations, until everything is right. It really doesnt matter to me, I honestly would like to just see this map bring a lot of attention to forgehub, especially since we've had all of these spam post lately. Im glad to see that you and others are interested in it.
Alot of maps these days have that same architectual feel to them. To me, it looks like you were inspired by many other Foundry maps with similar structures.
Before you release your map I suggest you get it tested by the Forge Hub Testers Guild. We give solid reliable feedback to improve the overall quality of maps. If you're interested links in the sig. Yeah i was planning on have the testers guild help me, Hopefuly they enjoy the gameplay and the map, trust me though I'll have a lot of games on here before its released.
