Well as many of you know there are competitors to the Ipod.. A lot like the PC or Mac debates there is the Zune vs ipod debate. Hardware wise, I love the iPod. Software wise, I LOVE the Zune. Zune software is possibly one of the best media programs I've ever used.
On paper (or computer monitor) I guess the Zune looks better. But it just can't compete with the iPod's popularity. I mean it's just not fair. The iPod has been around since 2001, and the Zune came out in 2006. That's like not playing until the 4th quarter, and trying to mount a come back. The iPod's immense popularity is just too much.
the zune is kewl, but i just love ipod. Infact right now im of my ipod shuffle. its awsome and small. lol, so ipod is awsome. but zune its pretty good too
I pretty much agree with this statement. The Zune's strength comes from its software, which is pretty much unmatched in terms of flexibility and the like. I love my Zune to death because of the software, though I do acknowledge the fact that iPods are generally more durable and better all-around pieces of hardware. The iPod's popularity is the death of the Zune in many ways, specifically the lack of Zune accessories (alarm clocks, car cables, etc.) in most major stores. I've had to order things such as my Zune dock/alarm clock over the Internet because you just can't find them anywhere else.
The zune is more durable on the case.. The ipod scratches really easily.. and you can get programs and custom games for the zune and there is an Alarm Clock program
I agree as well. Go for the Zune, it is less expensive. But it also has more features than the Ipod. With the Zune, you can link with others with the Zune through its Wi-Fi and share content. You can listen to the radio for news/contests or even if you want new songs. It kinda depends what Ipod you would wanna get because there are tons of those. So yeah, I would personally go for the Zune, but I don't really listen to music that much.
I mean if we're talking Ipod you need to include their newest products, Ipod Touch and the Iphone. The Zune is also a brick so nothing should mess it up. False, their has actually been plenty of stress tests on the Ipod and they went full force, car key, to the screen and it didn't leave one mark. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FUR70xhmqv4&feature=related There's these little things called Applications. Have many programs that are usually worth hundreds of dollars and Ipod is selling their version for around ten. Yes, there is an Alarm Clock Application. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OE4AeIm8le4
Yea.. i would go for the zune for the price and features unless you have a lot to spend then the ipod touch and the iphone would win hands down you got to post before me.. i wasn't just talking about the screen i was talking about the whole thing itself.. and the application and games you can get for the zune are free were as you cant get any custom applications on the ipod
Another thing is that the public barely acknowledges the Zune. For example: My grandma was looking for something to buy my little brother for Christmas. She walked into the local Radioshack and asked what kind of mp3 players they had. They sold her the new iPod Nano without even mentioning any alternate (or cheaper) brand of mp3 player. The Zune really does not get the respect it deserves.
I mean yeah, Zune has the strength just because it's big and bulky, but the only way you can really screw up anything on the Ipod is if it's intentional. Most of the greatest applications on the Ipod are actually free. You can get custom applications on the Ipod.
you know im talking about things that go on the ipod right? like from the app store because those are onl for the ipod touch and the iphone
Yes, I do know what you're talking about. Applications that are free or priced programs on the Ipod Application Store.
yea but those are only for the itouch and the iphone.. were mainly comparing zune and normal click/touch wheel ipods
You should clear that up in the OP, lul. Sorry for the trouble. To contribute: Zunes are like a centimeter or two thicker then the Ipod and it feels a bit awkward holding it.
I have 4 friends (Off the top of my mind) with Zunes and maybe 5-6 others with Ipods. Not a single one of the 4 is still on their first Zune. They have all purchased new ones due to hardware failure. All but one of my friends with Ipods are still on their first or bought a new one for the newer features. I'm still on my first one after 2 years, and things work just as well as they did then. Also, if you're worried about scratches, pay just a few extra bucks for a case.
I am not a genius but I dont believe the Zune is very popular, because its fairly new ( i think ) but I have one and I Like it a lot better than ipods. I mess around with my friends and idk i just like the feeling better i guess
I hate how whenever someone is looking to buy an mp3, they automatically gor for iPod or Zune. There are many other brands out there that are way more epic than iPod. I have a Creative ZEN with has 4 gigs and plays videos and has a microphone for recording and i only payed $89.99 for it. An iPod which had same memory and LESS features went for about $199.99. Browse around pplz. Also, the facts that iPods cant re-upload songs, and can only use itunes, blows, seen as how iTunes cost $$. Even though you can bring other mp3's into itunes, its just inconvenient
