I try to enclose my maps as much as possible, however I will never sacrifice the overall gameplay simply because someone will go out. On a few budget glitch maps I've made I've ran out of the Items necessary to keep them in it and I go with the policy of survival of the fittest, if your stupid enough to go out then you can pay the price. however that is not to say that I want people to get out, and don't make it as hard as possible with my resources, but for me keeping people in is priority numero dos.
i aggre with ferret but sometimes u have a large map where ujust want to close of a few small portions but u cant do it because u wasted all your walls and booxs on the map its self.
I look at it like this. Its only a custom game people. If anyone playing oddball or something on my map wants to win a custom game sooooo bad that he resorts to jumping out of the map, well then, he has no life. That being said.. I would just boot them or have the party leader boot'em. Get lost loser.. lol? Daz what I think. Ninja Monkey vanish* POOF!
Put a Receiver Node and two Incendiary Grenades in a Fence Box and stick it up on the ceiling. Put Sender Nodes in the Forbidden Forest and let 'em go... They'll quickly lose interest in playing outside when they take a hit in points to get back to the game.
i try to float my maps up so the level cap stops them...if thats possible its the best way to go for aesthetics and if you don't like ceilings
I don't put fusion coils on my maps unless they have a roof, either. J.J. B. Rich, that was me who agreed with you, but I meant as a concept rather than actually telling people they can go kill themselves if they get out of the map. (Stand on top of a fusion coil, begin shooting with an Assault Rifle or another weak weapon, after like the second or third shot or something, jump while still shooting.) I don't know exactly how many shots it takes, or anything, it's just something learned and not easily forgotten. (I learned about this method on Gradient.) I'm pretty sure it will elevate you above two box-heights.
