Backstory: Map: Pinned Down : Bungie.net : Bungie Online : Halo 3 File Detailshttp://http://www.bungie.net/Online/Halo3UserContentDetails.aspx?h3fileid=60516355 Gametype: Survival : Bungie.net : Bungie Online : Halo 3 File DetailsBungie.net : Bungie Online : Halo 3 File Details On the planet of Gelidus, the humans have been digging for precious minerals, such as diamonds, gold, or anything along those lines. After only a month there, the Covenant have landed and started to wage war on the Humans. The Covenant also want the minerals the humans are gathering. The humans want to steal as much of the Covenant technology as possible. It is up to you to decide, do you want the humans to get enough technology to drive the Covenant back, or do you want the Covenant to make off with enough minerals, and let them go? By the way Gelidus means cold in Latin, and you should also know that this is on just one half of Avalanche. The human base, (above) is where the humans will spawn, and their flag will spawn on the ramp coming out of the middle watchtower, there is supposed to be a warthog on the watchtower on the right, but for some reason it wasn't there when I took the picture. This is the inside of the human base, you get up from that teleportor that is on the barrier, to keep you from being assassinated as soon as you walk through. This is how you get up to the human base, via the teleporters at the end. This is the humans sniper tower, equipped with a missile pod and a sniper. This is the middle of the map, where the Scorpion that can't move is, and there are two choppers inside the building. Now for the Covenant base. This is an outer view of the Covenant base. This is the central room of the Covenant base, where you return the flag. This is the bottom of the Covenant base, with the three energy swords there. This is where the Covenant's flag spawns. Now finally, we have the gate. This is the one thing that makes the entire map worthwhile in my opinion. Here is how it is set up. Near where the second giant mancannon is on the right side of Avalanche, I have made the gate. On the outer edges are two large shield doors, and in the middle is a long line of teleporters evenly spaced apart. There are four crates against the teleporters. In between the crates there are gaps. The biggest gap is in between the middle two crates. Inside the gaps I have set power cores leaning on the crates, so that if you speed into the gate you will most likely explode. As you can see, behind that I have barricades on the ground with the point facing up. There is a small gap to drive through at the right. After that, there is a large shield door with gaps on the side. This is all encased by four large energy blockers. There are mancannons on the human side of the base, allowing you to get out. There is also a semi-secret way in to the right of this picture, near the mancannon. This allows you to entirely bypass the gate.(For some reason nobody figured it out in testing...) And now for the boring stuff Gametype Stats: 3 captures to win. There are multiple flags. No unusual capture the flag settings. No unusual weapon or vehicle traits. 4 rounds. 10 Minute time limit. Base player traits aren't changed. 5 second respawn, 3 second penalty for betrayal and suicide. Team Changing is not allowed. Friendly fire is disabled, along with betrayal booting. Weapon list: 3x Battle Rifles, 10 sec respawn, 2 spare clips. 2x Shotguns, 10 sec respawn, 2 spare clips. 1x Machine Gun Turret, 30 sec respawn. 1x Rocket Launcher, 30 sec respawn, 1 spare clip. 1x Missile Pod, 30 sec respawn, 0 spare clips. 1x Sniper Rifle, 30 sec respawn, 2 spare clips. 3x SMG's, 30 sec respawn, 2 spare clips. 2x Beam Rifles, 30 sec respawn. 2x Gravity Hammers, 30 sec respawn. 2x Needlers, 30 sec respawn, 2 spare clips. 2x Fuel Rod Guns, 10 sec respawn, 2 spare clips. 1x Brute Shot, 10 sec respawn, 2 spare clips. 3x Carbines, 2x 10 sec respawn, 2 spare clips;1x 30 sec respawn, 2 spare clips. 3x Energy Sword, 2x 10 sec respawn, 1x 30 sec respawn. All both Asymmetrical and Symmetrical and spawn at start. Vehicle List: 2x Warthog, 10 sec respawn. 2x Choppers, 30 sec respawn. 1x Scorpion, 10 sec respawn. 4x Ghosts, 3x 10 sec respawn; 1x 30 sec respawn. Equipment List: 2x Overshield, 10 sec respawn. 2x Active Camo, 10 sec respawn. 1x Power Drain, 60 sec respawn. 1x Gravity Lift, 60 sec respawn. 1x Regenerator, 60 sec respawn. 1x Deployable Cover, 30 sec respawn. 2x Plasma Grenade, 10 sec respawn. 2x Trip Mine, 60 second respawn. (By the way, I had to redo my whole post about five hours after it was done, everything was deleted except for half the backstory that cut off in the middle, the download links, and my opening sentence, I had to redo everything else. Hey, Im not sure if this is finished or not but its kind of hard to play on the map if we have no idea where to get it from. As you kind of probably figured this out, this post is not up to FH Standards, all map threads need a good description of the map, at least one picture of the map embedded in the post, and a dowload link to the map and not your fileshare. Please follow the rules, and people do not post about this not being under standards, he obviosly knows. Please Fix, you have 24 hours

i could tell by the way that you started out that it wasnt ready, and you cant delete it. all you can do is being that the map is done, finish up your post NOW you've got 23:30:23 seconds =) the clock is ticking, when it runs out you can't edit the post anymore. good luck and ignore the ppls that just say "this isnt up to standards" in the wise words of a poster in my teacher's classroom- "and error is not a mistake until you refuse to correct it" P.S. please nobody post anything till this has been posted for a day, we dont need useless remarks about an incomplete post

ok i got ur message and it looks like you figured out and fixed it now that i can see the pictures its not bad at all for a first map. I mean you could use more interlocking and geomerging 9up to date forging), but it does look like you spent a lot on floating objects i can see that its one of the forging 101 techniques u used. im glad to see you fixed your post. You did good for a first map. I would like to see more from you in the future
Thank you, I know I didn't use much geomerging or interlocking, I just didn't think it was needed. I interlocked a few of those ramps with the watchtower bases though, but that's about all. I was thinking of geomering the building in the center that held the choppers, but I decided I wanted to put in those barrier walls, which you will see if you DL the map, I accidentaly forgot to show a pic of the inside of the building, but I don't think it's that important. Edit: Well I guess I fixed the post, seeing as I got it up. The weird thing is, after I finished about 5 hours later, it got deleted, its at the bottom of the original post and was wondering if anyone knew anything about it?

nice Hey everybody looking at this I'm the one who made this map bu tmost of the credit belongs to American Food. But other wise I really love his map for the great capture the flag but also has to have at least 4 players at least playing on this map. And to end how you'll love this map cause I certainly do thanks william.
