Did you not see the screenshot that was posted on the previous page where the turret is upside down, with no other users in the game?
hey could one of the guilders make some kinda cool infection game using this trick make a guard the elephant infection game that would be so cool
If it was possible, I would attach a turret to the underside of the banshee. Hell yes. :squirrel_rocking:
Sofar as I can tell, turrets are the only things on sandtrap that can 'defy' gravity by sticking to an elephant the reasons are thus: 1: The elephant creates a 'field' of spawning relativity. This means that everything with a spawn within said 'field' will spawn relative to the Elephant. This is the principal that allows the Mongooses in default to spawn on the elephant, and the flag spawn points to stay on in CTF. 2: A stable turret that is at rest is immobile. This changes when the turret is detached, but in the beginning of its spawn, you can't move the turret base with the turret still attached, similar to the immobile objects from the heroic map pack. 3: This means that a turret behaves the same as the immobiles in Foundry. You can save/quit or delete the stuff underneath it to keep it in the air. When the turret is at rest inside of the Elephants spawn relativity field, it moves along with said elephant and will therefore keep it's orientation within the elephant, even if it was held upside down or if the elephant was upside down when the turret was placed. 4: This will NOT HAPPEN with ANY OTHER VEHICLE simply because no other vehicles have this relativity field. Unless bungie was lying to us and they have a whole host of new MP vehicles, this doesn't seem like it will change soon. The best bet would be waiting to see if the elephant is in any DLC in the future.
very well writen explanation, i was going to explain it to everyone, but yours is much neater then mine was going to be.
Yeah, I like it. I basically just thought of 'The Elephant is like the floor - stuff sticks to it.' but your explanation help cleared it up a bit for me
