Verbatim Created By: Creep1ng De4th & LIGHTSOUT225 Gametypes Supported: All default variants Recommended Gametypes: One-Flag, Land Grab, Team Slayer, Neutral Bomb, Multi-Flag, One-Bomb, Multi-Bomb, KotH Recommended Players: 4-10 Formerly known as Helvetica, Verbatim drew its original name from the quintessential typeface with which you are all doubtless familiar, more than living up to its namesake in terms of pure simplicity and suitability to any purpose. Fully compatible with all default gametypes, this masterpiece lends itself perfectly to any competitive application you'd care to name. A joint effort by two of our finest forgers, LIGHTSOUT225 and Creep1ng De4th, Verbatim more than does justice to both of their respective reputations by creating an immersive and supremely functional arena. This map's true strength lies in its effortless and refined gameplay, the fluid design and forging being trumped only by its superlative implementation of spawning and gameplay mechanics. Verbatim integrates itself seamlessly with its Foundry canvas in a way rarely seen in Forged creations, whilst managing to transport players to a world you will barely recognise as that of the Forger's favourite. Aesthetically dominated by the wholly imposing central gate, this Forger's dream is afforded a wealth of routes and options for traversing the harmonious combination of wide open spaces, beautifully applied sharp angles and attentive respect paid to both horizontal and vertical movement. Key positions are both beautifully forged and artfully balanced in pursuit of that perfect gameplay dynamic, and the whole is truly greater than the sum of the parts. An amazing union of practical form and function, built within budget to maintain optimum gameplay experience, Verbatim is an essential addition to your Forge compliment which you will definitely not regret downloading. congrats guys! This is an epic map and a half! It was a pleasure to test it with you, and i hope it makes it into matchmaking.
Awesome. Congrats to the both of you two. Layout, weapons, spawns, all are great. Function pwns Aesthetics everytime. The map is pure win. I hope it gets into Matchmaking.
Next is MM. I didn't recognize the name at first and the pictures looked totally different. Congrats on the feature Creeping Death and Lightsout, good luck with ATLAS. Hope to see it in matchmaking soon enough.
This map is really stellar. I love the aesthetics and the gameplay is good too. Now, if I can just get my friends to put down the friggin turrets! P.S. The link to download takes you to Helvetica, not Verbatim. Idk if Verbatim is exactly the same map as its former name or what, but the DL link in the original post to the final version of the map takes you to Verbatim.
Appreciate the good words guys! Creep and I are very proud of this map, and are honored to have it on the front page. I went ahead and edited the DL link to the Verbatim version, although it was the exact same map as the one titled Hellvetica. Thanks again.
Wait, are the featured maps only by the people who run this site? Then what's the point of someone posting maps on this site if the truly awesome maps submitted by the users never get featured?
wow this map looks amazing. the design, interlocking and geo- merging is fantastic. its got my download. P.S why is everyone saying that they hope it gets into matchmaking? is bungie bringing out a communty map playlist. someone please answer my question cause i really hope they are
So, if someone who happens to be staff makes an amaing map; it cannot be featured!? We are not corrupt, it just so happens that this is an amazing map. In actual fact, the majority of the staff are technically premium and what is a premium member? Someone who's had 2 featured maps. So what's to say that they won't continue to make great maps? We go through each map carefully and decided whether or not it is featured. We show no bias to the map creator when deciding to feature it. Who made it could matter less, as we feature the map not the creator. I hope you realise the flaw in that comment and your thoughts, I can assure you we're not corrupt. Look at the last featured map; Doognitized. It was made by a relatively new member; joining in November. LIGHTSOUT225 has submitted this in the Atlas group over at Bungie, in hopes for it to be placed into Matchmaking. Shiska told him the name needed changing because of copywright issues and has not locked the thread which is a very good sign.
He didn't say anything about you guys being corrupt. He was just wondering whether only staff could get featured or not lol. Sounds to me like someone has a guilty conscience!
What I got from the post was the usual comment of that sort. I answered it. Whilst he didn't say corrupt, it felt implied. Anyone can have a map featured, it just so happens that a lot of the staff are extremely competent forgers.
holy snizznikys great map! the spawns and everything else in this work was PERFECT. I usually dont like teleportals but it worked great with the map. I love the athsetics and hope to see it in matchmaking
Nicly well built and done creep and lights. Looks really great and glad to see it on the front page. Congrats on another great map.
Staff genarelly make really good maps. But, sometimes it seems like there are maps much more deserving. maps such as haven v2 and transfusion are A LOT better aesthetically. Sure haven has a few power weapons but, the gameplay is so hectic and fun you can look past that And this is FORGE hub the maps are supposed to be forged well, not just have good gameplay. In my honest opinion the game play seems somewhat fun but it isn't very pleasing to the eyes it has very few interlocking and geomerging (judging from the pictures, if there is a lot geomerging or interlocking then why take the pictures of the crappy parts.) Also transfusion is the best capture the flag map since Bungie made avalanche and that's saying A LOT. It,s so beautiful I would have sworn Bungie made it as part of a map pack (without forge with their own editor like they did ghost town) And the gameplay is so refined and perfect that it should be an instant feature. But instead this got a feature. While I'm not saying this is a bad map, I'm just saying that there is maps that are much better deserving. So it makes it seem like staff get privileges with getting features. If I had to rate it would get a 3/5.
I'm very happy this is featured, but sad at the same time because I have yet to do more that a forgethrough on this lovely piece of work. I'm asking now to be included on further reindeer games.
I must agree with you at some parts...like some other maps are more deserving of having this spot then others, but we dont get to decide that. The thing is this is a great map. Yes agian aesthetical is great to look at but sometimes aesthetical maps dont have the best gameplay. If someone can accually combined aesthetical and good gameplay into one map that should get a instant feature. But what I have caught on is that (not saying this is true just saying) is the staff if they made any maps there maps get looked at first. Yes they may look at every other map too, its just that they still have the staff map in there mind so that what they think is the best. Just my opinion, and thoughts.
This map looks vonderful, from the pics I can tell the gameplay flows smoothly and the aesthtics ares spot on. However this is probably (from what I can or can't see in the pics) the least geomerged featured map in a while, not a bad thing, but just, you know.. I will DL and once again Great Map 5/5
