For all of you making the 'Tremors' maps based upon the original Halo/Halo 2 variant, I would just like to confirm something, Assuming that you are basing the name of the worms off of the Halo 2 variant, let me just confirm that that game variant was thought of based off on the movie Tremors. I'm hoping that most of you know this already, as it brings me to my next paragraph: Either way, 'Tremors' in the incorrect name for the worms, if you watched the movies at all, you would know that it is Graboids. The movies are called 'tremors' because the worms themselves, simply by the act of moving, create a minor amount of seismic activity. The name 'graboids' is actually coined by the characters in the first movie of the series, in case anyone was wondering. For those of you who don't know what a tremor is, it is a minor shockwave caused by a larger earthquake. But to continue on, I am simply posting this here, and no offense, because it does really sound stupid(at least to anyone who's seen the movies) when the roles for the game variant are incorrectly named, especially when one knows what a tremor actually is. By this post, I hope to end this small misconception.[/rant]
Tremors and Tremor Valley are FH classics, in the Bungie Favorites atm. And I never knew that...as useless as the information is by now Nice to know, I guess. In case someone puts a gun to my head and asks what the names of the worms from the movie 'Tremors' are. Or something like that.
All I can ask is that if someone makes a variant of the Tremors Gametype, they don't call the worms Tremors.
Check your Bungie Favorites. @Dae: Your right, I'm saying its just 12 months and 12,000 (and growing fast) downloads too late
You avoid getting killed by a vehicle while jumping from rock to rock while carrying the flag. @Insane: The description of the variant can still be changed, though.
The movie is called Tremors The game is called Tremors. The things can still be called whatever they are called. I could call them shibiekas and you would still see them as giant worms that are going to kill you. EDIT: As in the game you see them as people riding choppers that are going to kill you.
Woah titmar, don't freak out on him. Lets all be nice even if it is useless info and pointless to complain about. The game is based on the movie and thats where the idea came from but it isn't an exact remake thus they don't need to keep the same name.
*sigh* Go to my first post in this thread. It proves why it's called Tremors and not, *insert whatever the giant man-eating worms are called*...
I'm not talking about the game name, but the name that the Hosts give the opposing team that consists of two players. I'm mainly complaining about it, besides what is stated above, because it just sounds wrong. You are not chased by minor vibrations in the ground. It makes the host sound like he or she has a bad grasp of English.
Both our points are valid. Sorry if I made it seem like I was demeaning yours. If you give a name to something, then you should call it by that name. If the host decides to call them Tremors then (even if Tremor means minor vibrations in the ground.) you should call them by that. Go read my post again. Maybe you'll understand more of what I mean.
Its cool. Now so this isn't spam. I don't think you should make threads like this. It makes people not like you.
