Lighthouse

    Lighthouse
    This Map is slightly based off of "Desolation" and "Derelict". It plays best with 1v1 or 2v2. This maps has many boxes connected together to create a circular like battle area. There are 2 Teleporters that take you to a sword room. There are 2 Needlers 2 Maulers 2 Carbines 1 shotgun 1 sword and 10 plasma Nades and Invisibility. Very fast Game play.

    I've Downloaded this yesterday from the Bungie forums.

    Its got a good design to it, but smoothen it out.
    Interlock and straighten things up, then it will play great along side the design.

    for the active camo, it floats once u put it under a weapon holder, u can then delete it

    thats good to know, and is there a roof that covers the whole thing, i noticed that in ur pic desc.

    I was hoping a non-Foundry/Last Resort map...

    No offense, but I'm disapointed. The map itself is alright, like he said interlocking would help greatly and smoothen it out. But if you made an actual lighthouse on Last Resort, Rats nest or Highground it could be way better.

    Besides people need to move away from the Foundry only maps idea.

    I like this map a lot, and the shield door roof is rather interesting.
    I think that it would be a bit better aesthetically if you didn't use weapon holders quite so much.
    Perfectdark, some one's map thread is not the place to complain about the state and common location of forged maps.
    I agree, why did you choose the name?

    I've been thinking of creating something similar myself. Looks very interesting.. I'll Dl it and give better feedback me thinks.

    You could improve your post though really.. people will get turned off from such a short description and only three images.

    This map looks fun, it avoids that continual boxy feel a lot of foundry maps have. You may want to roof off the map so players can't grenade jump out of the map....assuming you have the materials to do so. A few of the walls look like they could use interlocking...but other than that it looks like a solid map. I would add a more lengthy description like others have already recommended. Its helps show what the pictures cannot.

    Thanks for all the comments. And to answer some things. I don't have a longer description because the map is pretty basic. A round map for for 2v2 or 3-5 FFA (pretty much sums it up. I'm not completely sure but I think I ran out of boxes and Walls. And the main question people ask is why is it called "Lighthouse". In short I was making a map to take screen shots on. At one point it was a lighthouse And when I kept the circular flow to it I just kept the name.

    i gotta say, i wasn't terribly impressed with this map concerning the teleporters and grav lifts.

    The teleporters allow a player to camp in the sword room and pretty much control the whole game. I played this a few rounds with a few friends, and every spawn was a race to the teleporters. It kind of disrupted the flow of the game

    If you fall into the center pit, the only obvious way to get out are the grav lifts. That's fine, but I found it very hard to get up to the upper level because of the placement of the lifts. You fly up past the ceiling of the upper level and come back down

    Well, this gameplay then reminds me of playing Team Slayer on The Pit. My team, always goes to the swordroom, and if someone wants to, one of us will go for rockets. (and usually dies...)

    Then, which ever team has the swordroom under control, basicly controls the whole game.
    It kinda sucks sometimes, but we usually win.

    this map is really good and cleaver and looks neat without interlocking. im definatly haveing a go on this. do have to say one thing though change the name.
