Well, my brother just got a Google Android. He is in need of an application that rotates images in a slideshow of his choice. Basically, he wants to be able to walk up to a client and advertise his product by showing him then and there what he is trying to sell. Now here is the catch: I get a Google Android for myself if I code it. Too bad I have no idea how coding JAVA works, and I really want an Android. Fail position, I know. So, I tried to download the SDK kit and a Java coding program, and I installed everything, tried to follow this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I6ObTqIiYfE Too bad the guy uses keyboard shortcuts and doesn't let me copy exactly what he is writing. If anyone can help me get started on any time of coding of Java applets for Android, you would be a huge help to me. Please, anyone. Here is the SDK kit: Documentation - Android and the link to the Java program I am using: Eclipse Downloads (top link....) I am open to any and all help, anywhere. It can be for one specific code in Java, or a link to a site that will teach me Java basics and another link, etc etc. (or you can just do it for me and we can all save me the trouble, eh?) jk. But no seriously, thanks to any and all who help, and I hope to be making Android applications in no time! PS: (Nemihara, I know you know this....even your shitty laptop like you said can help me out here!)
First year taking it, i like what im doing in to so far, i might take the upper version of the class next year for the college credit.
Hey txghost, mind directing me to some help? Seriously, please, if anyone can direct me to how to do this, I'd luv u forevaz
try searching for a java script tutorial on google so you can learn how to make a java script and if that doesn't work try to get in Comp Sci I AP when you get in high school.lol
Uhm.... Skrad or however the **** you spell your name. You will not be able to learn Java fast. It takes time just like any other language and even more so it requires hard work. I couldn't guess where you could get info on the web. My suggestion is to look into some classes for basic OOP (Object Oriented Programming). Java is a pretty good OOP Language you could also use Pascal or C++. Java seems to be the easiest to learn though but if you could find a class for either Java, C++, or Pascal you should be good. I doubt you will be able to create a functioning program for the Android platform any time soon.
I honestly would recommend this Javanotes 5.0.2 -- Title Page It'll give you the basics of Java and is a good introduction to programming in general.
