Are you using Photoshop? Save a PSD version of the file, and I can play with the text if you want. I'll see what I come up with.

That second one is on Avalanche, in the cave, go to the lower platform. There is something wrong with... something, the different sections of the platform react differently to explosions and fire.

I can't remember exactly how to do it, I think that you just gave to place all your weapons on to the middle section (as they have done) then create and explosion on it. In Theatre mode the weapons and the 2 sections either side with turn transparent/show the explosion, the middle section will remain roughly the same, creating that contrasting effect.

I haven't done it myself, but I have heard how its done.
1)Spell out whatever with guns. For floating spell them on a floating platform then delete the platform.
2)Turn on a bunch of filters(experiment to get the effect you want)
3)Fire a laser, light a fire, or toss a flare(or combine those). I believe nade explosions work too but you risk upsetting your creation.
4)Go into theater mode and get a screenshot of the guns lit by the flare/laser.

Shield doors, man cannons, regens, power drains, fire, fuel rods, sentinel beams and other effects can make your screenshot different. Experiment is all I can say.
