It depends on the game type. Starting weapons in games of slayer need to be simple, like what i chose, the BR and the Magnum. But some games like Infection, for example, it's up to you. But I like the simple weapon(s) idea.
Out of those, I prefer the Shotgun/Sniper duo. Second, its not up there, I LOVE the Assualt Rifle and Battle Rifle combination. Kick ass. 8)
Random weapons FTW! But really, I find the weapons to be different. Try messing around with it. Shotguns=strong=low fire rate, AR=lots of shots to kill=fast fire rate. Take factors like this into consideration.
Ok, first of all, I would hate to start with a shotgun, period. ARs and shotguns are both close range weapons, so for the majority of the maps I end up playing on, they wouldn't work. The small part of shotties and snipers is that if you start with it, your opponent starts with it. Now shotty snipers is fun to play occasionally but it really defeats the tactical portion of Halo. Carbine is underpowered. I wouldn't use it unless there weren't any BRs available. Submachine gun and pistol are both underpowered unless you start with them duo wielded. BRs are my weapon of choice. Screw the magnums.
if you aim with the carbine it will kill just as fast as a BR. I have a very fast triggger finger which makes that gun usefull.
your either on crack, or just plain suck at halo, The carbine actually kills an opponent faster than the BR if you take the time to aim instead of shooting aimlessly. The pistol is like this as well, while it may have a slower fire rate than its predecessor in Halo:Combat Evolved, it can gun people down just the same. SMG is a BEAST at close quarters, almost as effective as a shotgun, especially while dual wielding. If your dual wielding, do not drop the secondary gun to go for a beat down, keep minimal distance and keep firing, your enemy WILL go down before you. If you have one SMG, do the RTB combo, just like the shotgun, it works just the same. Take time to aim and line up for that head shot with EVERY gun, not just the sniper , and you'll see that all of the guns are perfectly balanced for every game type.
yep! Pistol = 3 shot to kill Carbine 4-5 shots to kill BR= 3-4 bursts to kill smg = 20-22 bullets to kill at close range
I'm not on crack. Most maps don't fit a single smg too well and I did say duel wielding them is both good. I have easily noticed that when aiming at the head with a BR will take down an enemy faster and I do. I don't suck at Halo, quite the opposite. And yes, I don't like carbine. You basically use 2/3 of a clip to take someone down. BR I can easily kill 3 people without reloading. Pistols are underpowered compared to other close range weapons. Although they are more accurate and good for zombies. And melee is overpowered lol. About 6 shots from an AR and a melee will almost guarentee a kill. Unless you didn't get as many shots off as the other person. So yeah, ARs beat smgs in my book. (unless you have duel wielded 2 smgs or an smg and mauler)
The carbine is not underpowered, it takes the same amount of time to kill someone with the carbine and the BR(of course the H3 beta was a completely different story, carbine ruled!) There are a few things that may tip the favor towards each gun. the BR has 3-shot bursts, and if you miss, there is a small chance that 1 or 2 of the bullets still hit, where as the carbine, if you miss a shot, there is no chance. Since the BR is a 3 shot burst compared to the carbine's single-shot with narrower projectiles, I found that the carbine's range is slightly longer than the BR, but not by much.
While i disagree with you on multiple points, i also think they need to re-do the melee system. Having the person with the better connection win is absurd, in Halo 2, both people died, and that was fair.
Yeah, it isn't connection. It's how much health you have lol. Otherwise I would win everytime. My internet is never laggy when I play. EDIT: quote the whole thing about melee, I get the impression that you don't understand what I'm talking about when I say using melee after 6 shots of the AR.
