Created by WetBeaver and Colonel Sutpen Download Calypso Casino Required game variant: Attack & Defend (one-flag CTF 8-14 players) Team Sharpshooter (team slayer 6-14 players) This is a remake of Calypso Casino from Rainbow Six Vegas. The casino is a large enclosed structure with 3 floors: the vault, the casino floor, and the roof. Defenders have their choice of spawning in either the vault (bottom floor) or the keno room (middle floor). Attackers have their choice of spawning on either side of the roof (players actually spawn in an enclosed area with their choice of weapons/equipment and two teleporters to the casino spawn areas). For Attack & Defend, the package (flag) starts in the center of the vault. Attackers must fight their way down to the vault, take the package, and bring it to the extraction point on the roof. Defending the package requires real teamwork because it can't be returned and only resets after 2 minutes. The best way is to halt the attackers at the two stairwells to the vault level, as these are the only ways down there. Attackers have many options of entering the casino from the roof: 2 elevator shafts, 2 stairwells, 2 'rappels', and 4 'fastropes'. Attack & Defend (one-flag CTF) and Team Sharpshooter (team slayer) are game variants made to simulate the gameplay of RSV. They use no shields, high gravity, slightly reduced player speed, 10 second respawns, and temporary invulnerability to counter spawn camping. Grenades (frags and incediaries) are disabled by default, but if you insist, you can turn them on by changing the 'Grenades on Map' and 'Grenade Count' settings. The roof The roof from the other side The casino floor (facing the keno room) The casino floor (facing the cashbox) The vault lobby The vault We tried to recreate Calypso Casino from RSV as closely as possible (with boxes and walls), but of course some things had to be cut. The 2 most noticeable cuts are the helicopter pad and the vault offices. Another notable difference is the fact the flag resets after 2 minutes. This had to be done because of the intentional-out-of-map-flag-thrower guy. There are no honor rules, but I play by a self-imposed (and thus optional) RSV rule: don't exchange your pistol for another weapon. Many thanks go to ForgeHub, specifically for the Forging 101 tutorials. This map is simply not possible without floating, interlocking, immovable objects, the money glitch, etc... all of which I learned right here. This looks like a pretty good remake of probably the best RSV map. The only things I noticed in the pics were that you didn't include the spots where you can repel from a rope and the glass in a an indestructable, fence box. You can fix these by making the rope spots so you have to fall and then there's a gravlift under a bridge so it slows you down and allows you to access the window below if you choose. The windows could have a few holes in them at spots, with pallets covering the holes. You could shoot throught the fence or pallet and the pallets would "shatter" to allow you to drop down onto the floor below.
Ah yes, The best map of rainbow six Vegas is released I enjoyed testing and playing with you and I think that this is a great map nicly done.
Thanks guys... I like this idea, as I know the 'rappels' are a little too quick as they are now. I should definitely put in non-respawning pallets to act as the windows.
sorry i couldnt come for the test, i was busy with shock...but this looks great and im gonna download it and get back to you...from the screenshots it looks...intresting. i think i have to play Vegas multiplayer sometime...:O
I have yet to play Rainbow Vegas but none-the-less, this looks like a decent map. Everything is nice and neat from what I can see. If my Xbox was working I would DL it and give it a quick forgethru, but thats not the case... =[ good post.. **thumbs up!**
O I remember testing this with you. It was alot of fun on CTF and it really looks like the real calypso casino in r6vegas. Im gonna dl.
Many thanks for the comments, testing, and for the great games played. I updated the map removing a couple ways to escape the map (and also the remark in the post about not being able to get out - oh well). I also added a new game variant, Team Sharpshooter, which is just a team slayer variant with the same settings as Attack & Defend. It works with as few as 6 players. (Just thought I'd do this now, since RSV 2 came out today, but none of the stores near me are getting it until tomorrow. Grrr)
