You have mastered the basic controls of the game. You usually stick with the AR (Assault Rifle) through the whole game. You rush constantly rush the other Team in an effort to get kills. You do not communicate much, and do not know the basic call outs for maps. You tend to run straight toward to the other opponent, shooting them at first, then beating down to usually trade kills. You do not know many basic jumps, and rely on the roads the map has given to get around. Intermediate K/D -2 to +7 in an average game. You are comfortable with the game controls. You occasionally use the AR (Assault Rifle) but usually trade it in for a BR (Battle Rifle) or a Carbine. You combine rushing the other Team, and staying back to give support to your Team Mates, in a mostly successful Team Kill effort. You communicate, and know your basic call outs. Although you only give relative locations, and spots of combat. You have a basic Strafe, but you still run towards to other opponent hoping to live, and get the beatdown kill. You know basic jumps that help you get around the map faster, although you do not use them often because you are usually unsuccessful at them. Advanced K/D 0 to +10 in an average game. You are comfortable with the game controls, and are able to manipulate them wisely. You rarely ever use the AR (Assault Rifle) instead your main goal in the beginning of the game is to pick up a BR (Battle Rifle) or a Carbine. You rarely rush the other Team unless its a Team effort. And you do good in support, and being headstrong. You mostly get Team kills, and you do alot of Team shooting. You vigorously communicate, and know all your call outs. You communicate to your Team about every enemy activity you see, or hear. You have an advanced Strafe that incorporates both long and short movements. Although it is still predictable, and basic. You have mastered the Basic jumps that help you get around the map, and can do them successfully 95% if the time. You also know Basic hiding spots to trick your enemy. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Custom Games MLG FFA Warmup ~ *16 people Max* Everyday MLG FFA (Free For All) Warmups. Hey Could you change xCoreGamerx to HomieG54 seeing this is my current/original name? Also if at all possible could I take all of these? (I want to be the best I can be)
You can take as many classes as you want to get you skill up. Although you might have to wait a little bit for each lesson as it might take time for our mentors to schedule a lesson time for you. Really sorry on the fact that you guys won't be able to schedule anything until I'm completely done with the Thread, and the links that lead to the 1v1, 2v2...Threads. The reason I posted this so early is so I could give you guys a heads up on what you might want to expect in the future, and so you guys could help me with advice on what I should add or change in this Thread.
Hey nice group you got going here. But I suggest you change the yellow color to something more suitable for Old School users like myself. And also maybe edit the OP and give a short summary, or bio about your skill in Halo 3. Maybe list your levels in play lists and say how long you've been in MLG, and so forth. Maybe you could even do that for every member in it. But as I said, nice work and I'll possibly help when my xbox is back in my possession.
Shouldn't we add Slayer or Objective specific lessons to the Lesson Options/Descriptions. The strategies are so different most of the time and also a lot of people are bad at just specific types of games, Usually because they treat objectives like slayer games. Or certain people are bad at certain maps. Example: Gametype/Map Specific Lessons ~ *Up to 6 people* Lessons for Maps or Gametypes listed specifically by the person(s) suggested. Teaching basic to advanced strategies to increase the quality of your play on specific maps/gametypes. Lessons vary from intermediate to advanced knowledge, whichever is requested by the user.
Wow this really seems like an amazing thread and I believe it should be put on the home page. I hope that this becomes very successfull for people on FH because some of use do really want to know how to be better and they try to solve the problem by just playing games. But this thread should help them a lot. You have gained my respect
I would be willing to help mentor. I am an extremely advanced player (50) who is good with BR, Snipe, Grenade Tactics, Callouts, Jumps, and much more. Where do I sign up?
EDIT: Nvm, I could definitely help teach some things like timing powerups, special jums, strafes but only to people who would fall into the beginner category. Btw the k/d's should be taken out as if you're going way positive consistently it just means you're playing people consistently worse than you and you need to find new people to play with. Like I'd fall into the beginner category with the people I play with because most of them are disgusting but when I play mlg with people here I reap kills...
I agree with Lightz, the K/D thing shouldn't be criteria for the category you fall into. Are these lessons supposed to just teach you the ideas of what you should be attempting to do or do you have a method of actually building the skills in pulling it off? Cause my grenades fail really really hard, I only land them where I wanted to put them maybe 1/3 of the time. The rest of my game I think is probably in the advanced category, just my nades fall somewhere between infant and beginner.
Well you see it says, in an average game. Meaning that your most likely playing people of your skill. And the categories don't ask you to compare yourself to the best person you know. It allows you to rate yourself not just by the K/D, but by many other aspects also.
What? I consider myself to be an ok player in halo 3. i can mostly out br people. i mostly play big team, slayer, swat, and sometimes snipes. Whats the difference between mlg and these. i dipped my toes in it a couple time just to try it out, but got rapped..... badly. i was dumbfounded when i kept dieing. if i remember right, it was "hijustcallmegod".... she said something about being in the top 25 best halo girls. anyway, i just want to know what im doing wrong. can you help me out?
The K/D thing is stupid to judge their skill by, no offense. You can get carried pretty easily, and go positive JUST because one of your teammates is beasting. People should just sign up for what they want, I think that would work out better. I guess that's kind of how you have it, and if the k/d spread is just there for an example than it works out. I'd be willing to help, 50 in TS, 50 in Dubs, 44 in MLG, etc.

The people that are requesting lessons on this Thread surely haven't read the whole post. This isn't were you enlist yourself for lessons. This thread is desinged to discuss the MLG Lessons, and what I can change and improve on this post. If you desire to get lessons, please proceed to the Lessons Discussion part in the end of the post. Some of the Names have been hyper linked, and others not yet. The one's that are hyper linked, you can click on them, and it will send you to a post were you are supposed to enlist yourself for the lesson, not here.
Hey i'd like to join to prepare for the 2 v 2 next time it comes around. I really don't play MLG to much but i would like to get better.
When I get my xbox back I'm thinking I might try this...I've been trying for ages to get my 45, but I just can't seem to get it...I have a pretty good BR, and decent callouts, but my teamwork is lacking in general. So, I'll have to see once I get my xbox back, if I have time. Your doing a great thing here, IB u IN N ii. I commend you on your work BTW: Does it have to be MLG? I was more looking for something that would help my Team Doubles/Team Slayer/Team Snipers/Squad Battle, that kind of thing, though I'm OK with MLG, too.
it doesn't have to be MLG, some of the lessons are directed towards improving overall gameplay while other's with team, there are 3v3 and 4v4 lessons you can take individually or with your team and doubles lessons you can take, although I think you have to be with a partner
