Ok so I have been making a map on foundry where all of it is inclosed up in the air and have notice some of the positives and negatives of it and also I want to know what everyone else prefers. So lets get started.

    PROS
    1. No need of geomerging
    2. In some cases it is better because your map has to be smaller which can be good for a 1v1 2v2 or even a 3v3
    3. It makes it feel like the map is more complex which in reality it isn't
    4. It can almost create a theme depending if your using mainly walls as the floor, walls, and ceiling or double boxes. Do to the fact that I personally think walls look my like it is broken down because they have smudges on them, aswell as doubles boxes look more futuristic with its smooth and sleek edges
    5. You can make the flooring customized
    CONS
    1. You have to use more materials to create the floor and walls
    2. It can be very annoying after save and quiting all the time
    3. You are mainly limited to 1v1 2v2 or 3v3
    4. The floors are sometimes it seems impossible to be straight
    5. Aesthetics can be easier created on the flat floor

Now you tell me which ones you like, and if you would like to go above and beyond tell me your pros and cons on why you like or dislike about floated maps.

Make it above blackout. there are just as many resources and more space. That clears up a lot of your cons.

Everything you said there was valid, however I'm gonna have to disagree with the 1v1, 2v2, 3v3. Who says you can't use the whole Foundry level (except the backrooms, or why not include them). I think Foundry may be big enough to create a floating level and make it a 4v4, or even 5v5 map.

There actually isn't near as many resources.

    Cons:
The boxes all have bumps. The boxes are odd colors and if you want anything to match you have to do an extra glitch. Black out is darker and changes gameplay a lot. once you get out of the map you have to worry about death barriers. It's much harder to be original with your creation.

    Pros:
You can fall to your death.

People LOVE totally enclosed maps. That is, maps without Foundry's walls showing. To make the map sexier, you have 1 of two choices.
    A. Build the floor.
    B. Make the roof and half a floor.

Both offer great aesthetics, and give the feel of playing on a new map. However I feel that having a roof and half the floor being done is best. A full roof usually uses less objects than a full floor. So you can have a full roof, and half of the map being floored. If you want a full floor though, having a roof is out of the question. I also feel that foundry's floor is more pleasing to look at than foundry's roof. So i chose to make the roof. That's totally up to you though.

Aswell as the different colored, bumpy boxes it also does not have double walls which I use alot for making sure the double boxes are correctly aligned

well i see what you are saying and i do believe it may have been done before with the map distortion i believe. so yes it is possible to make a map like this but is also very hard once you have realized you made it too big and you dont have enough materials. Also for floating maps you can use the inside cavern avalanche like i did in my map xiathis.

So many problems like this could be avoided if Bungie were to upgrade the Forge so that we can define the dimensions of each object. For example, to make an entire floor or ceiling with a single "wall" item.

The problem to me is not about making the floor because that Is my favorite part about making a floated map because you can have it customized to whatever you want the problem for me is wasting all the materials on the floor
