As all of you know, The New Xbox Experience arrived on the 19th. Now we can create an avatar, which we can see while playing mini-games and the like. Is it just me, or does this seem like a striking resemblance to the Mii? And when choosing your character, the spotlight coming down onto whoever you choose and lifting them into the air is just a bit much for me. In my opinion, this is quite cheesy and an imitation of the Wii. Also, when seeing the friends list on the dashboard, now you have to flip through several little bubbly animated figures to find who you're looking for, whereas before you could see maybe 10 people at once. Also, when two people are playing the same game, it shows them both and takes a few seconds to tell who the other person is. Although this is not a problem during a game, the new dashboard is supposed to make things easier. The other updates sound great and are seemingly revolutionizing the entertainment market. Feel free to share your opinions, folks.
i knew it was copying the Mii since they announced it. Who cares? The Wii has copied things from the Xbox. They also copied things from the PS3. (?) They will always copy things from each other. But hell, if it is worthy of copying it must be good.
Yeah, every system has copied from another system in some way, shape, or form. Even games do it. You see Saints Row is a copy off of GTA but theres nothing you can do. Both have their ups and downs. I do like the avatar for the xbox better though, it seems like there is more personalization.
I really don't like the mii or the avatars for the xbox 360. I don't see how they are going to mold the avatar into the xbox live experience. Plus my avatar looks like a retard lol.
It was just the fact that they had them for me. It just doesn't blend well with the majority of the games that people are playing. War Games and good graphics don't mix well with simple, cheery animated people. And on a more critical note of the actual avatar creator, they don't really have a diverse list of options.
It's all competition... Xbox copy ideas because they think they can improve them - and in this case they did. The avatar gamerpic is cheesy, but it's fun to play around with and can be changed back anytime. I wouldn't worry too much about there being a lack of options now because soon in the future (And so on after that) xbox will bring out new features for the avatars. If it is going to be priced though, I don't know (Hey that rhymed!). As for this point, you can simply call up the xbox guide button (which is great now) for easy access to the friends list. The format of this is similar to the previous one if you like that sort of style. The dashboard friends list is just a bit of fun too. It's nice to see you and seven of your friends hanging out in one place.
