This is a super-really-mini guide to making special gametypes (Slayer only)

I did not come up with this myself, it's pretty old and I can't reference the first author so... I won't.

Something few people know about (although it's been around for a while) is that you can make a gametype where the two teams (only two though, anymore and it doesn't work) have different starting weapons.

To do this you will have to work the VIP gametype. You need to use the VIP settings because it is the only gametype that will allow you to customize each team individually (like different starting weapons). Set the type to one-sided VIP and then you can set one team's settings using General Settings, and the other's using the VIP Team settings (I'm not sure if those are the exact names)

Next make sure that the VIP settings match those of his team, this means things like turning off waypoint, extra shields, and any other default settings.

The last thing you have to do is change the scoring, this is probably the easiest part. Make VIP kills +1, any other kills +1, and make sure the round doesn't end when your VIP is killed. This part is pretty much the same thing as using a KOTH gametype into a Slayer gametype (Although that kind is used to keep pesky mapbreakers inside the boundaries of your map)

If you're wondering what you'd ever use this for, the one example I always remeber was one called MLG vs Default. The name pretty much explains it... This is for kids who like BR starts and the kids who like AR starts, and they can battle it out to prove which one is better.

You can use it to play tricks on people (give your team extra damage, or even more sneaky reduce theirs slightly [it's less noticable]) although it is random which team gets the VIP so be careful you may end up handicapping yourself.

After making one the rest are easy because you already have something to edit off of so, let your creativity run wild, Have Fun!

EDIT: When you're done, feel free to post your gametypes here and we'll see what we get ;)

Thanks! Thats perfect for what I need for a machinima scene (Covenant vs. UNSC). I also like the gametype as well. I'm going to use that in some maps, great find.

Great idea. I really like MLG vs Default idea. Maybe We should make a map for iit where half would be Mlg-style while the other is normal. That would be cool. Thanks for putting this on here.
