Playstation Home is basically a virtual world players can visit out of game to see, chat, and interact with other PS3 gamers. Players will create and avatar and get a HomeSpace, which is simply their apartment in the virtual world. Home will contain a vast environment, including a virtual cinema for movie trailers, spaces for game developers such as THQ, EA, etc. to showcase their games, in addition to main public areas where Home avatars can meet and socialize. According to Sony, any Bluetooth headset will be able to be used for communication in Home. If you don't have a Bluetooth headset, there will also be an option to use a USB keyboard, or pre-selected messages. While the service will be free, some features of Home will cost. For example, a player can purchase more clothes and accessories, or a bigger apartment which contains mini-game-enriched object, such as a pool table for billiards. You can watch the trailer on YouTube here.

It looks cool, but I kind of doubt that it will be that good. I mean this thing was supposed to be released a year ago. And it is still in beta!

I think SOny is pumping too much money into a blow off feature.

Sony needs the people. To be really honest with you guys, Ps3 is starting to fall behind the wii and xbox 360. Its gaming choices have become so bland that a lot of people are just selling there ps3s and buying other consoles. Alot of my friends traded in there PS3 for a 360. PS3 home should bring back some people and may convince more people to get a PS3.

Since Grif didn't give that much info, I got this copypasta for those who want to know more about it. Thanks goes out to the man that wrote this. You know who you are.

    Thanks again dude.

Not really, the PS3 shouldn't be thought of as a console but more as an entertainment device. Even if Sony doesn't realise this yet, it's what it has become.

Source: QJ.NET - QuickJump Home - PS3 News, Wii News, Xbox 360 News, PSP News and more!

A new batch of details for PlayStation Home was revealed in a little Q&A between Home staffers and beta testers.

We don't have official confirmation from Sony that this info is legit, but users from the PS3Forums claim that the official guys from Home were Lucas_Star, CyndoniaX, and Tdog.

The users also say the the meeting was posted on the message of the day, and took place at Home's Central Plaza at 8-10 p.m. Eastern. But let's move on to what you want to hear. The details they say were revealed during the meeting were:

    • Open Beta will hit either on December 15 or 30
    • Open Beta will be restricted to 18+
    • Censor on swearing will be lifted in the Full Beta
    • A random weather system
    • A money system
According to one of the users, the money system will work this way: "You earn money from collecting trophies. And you will get money for the trophies you already have." Could this be the "Trophy reward system" OPM heard wind about last month?

Since we haven't heard of any official confirmation from Sony, we'll have to tag all of these as rumors for now.

Ok so I went around and here is my final decision.

    It sucks.

The bowling is mediocre. Load times are bad.

The mall has stores, but they are all empty.

If it was on the Xbox I might like it more because I would have a good headset, people I know, and it would probably be designed better. Its just really dumb. Sony should scrap it.
