Well, I decided to see if I could come up with an idea and just started placing structures, and here's what I came up with. Note that this is just the bones of the map and I have not added any details.

I could really use some constructive criticism because this will be my first map (that's actually worth showing anyway). So any advice and suggestions you have would be greatly appreciated.

    Overview:
The big central structure will be moved to the right so it is centered (that's why the bridge looks bad). There will be a second base in the bottom left corner where i indicated that it similar to the other base.

    Back View:
The view of the back structure. Obviously the fence boxes are where the map is cutoff.

    Base View:
View of the base. Like I said, there's no detail here that will be present in the final product.

Well there ya go. I haven't decided on a name for it or anything.

I'm debating on whether or not to find a partner to help me forge and keep me company, but I'll let you know.

    Don't forget to comment!

how do you actually interlock on this program, i am assuming that you just drop it on geomerging and make it shorter but is interlocking the same?

Yes, the objects just go right into on another because they are intangible, yet visible.

Interlocking is basically the same as the Foundry Designer. All you have to do is move the object where you want it and it will automatically interlock. Basically you can put the object anywhere you want it.

I'm really looking forward to using this program because I have a map I've been working on but I only get a chance to work on it when I'm at a friend's house so I'd really like to show you guys my plans but like Kilamanjara said, I need to know where to download the program first.

Here's the link to the thread by Fritzster.

    http://www.forgehub.com/forum/563015-post1.html

It explains it there, but I'll try to explain it clearly.

What you want to do is click on the first link "Download - Google Sketchup". It will open a new window. In the top right, click "Download Google Sketchup." When the next page loads, click "Download Google Sketchup 7" in the bottom left. Agree to the terms of use and download the program.

After this finishes downloading, go back to Fritzster's post and click the second link "Download - Halo 3 Forge Foundry Components." A screen will open with the options of Open, Save, or Cancel. Hit Save and save it on your desktop for easier future access.

After the download is completed, just click on the link you saved on your desktop. When you get into the designer, click Window>Components at the top of the window. Note: If it does not come up with the items that are found in Foundry, click on the little house icon that is above the items and it should take you there.

Hope that helped and if you have any other questions, let me know.

Thanks smitty you'll be a good person to join forgehub, also whenever you post this map, MAKE SURE that you do it correctly... nothing pisses me off more then a first time poster that doesn't know how to post.

Edit: how do you make like a double box standing on its side

Select the box, hit 'Q', which is the hotkey for rotate, select the axes you want to rotate it along, and rotate like you've never rotated before.

Don't worry, I'll make sure I do. When I was looking at some of the maps, I too noticed that some people didn't post theirs correctly, and I didn't even know the correct way to post it yet! So it can be very obvious, I know.

This looks great so far. All you need is a little more cover and you have a fine map my friend. Good luck

I've made some changes to it. The middle and bases look a bit different, but you'll have to wait to see it. I'm hoping to finish it over the break.
