Which button layout do you guys use? I had always used default since Halo 1, but I recently switch to bumper jumper and love it. The only difference to it really is you jump with LB which allows you to be in mid air and aim. It has really helped my BRing since I can now jump up and still have accuracy while it is harder for my opponent to hit me. I have been able to switch jumping and 'nade switching easily, but I will still occasionally reload instead of beatdown and vice versa.
I've been default too since H1, and have been recently thinking about switching to bumper jumper. I might switch. We'll see what happens...
You should definitely give it a go. It doesn't take long to adjust to the jumping but it takes about 20 games to get down the beatdown/reload. If I were you about to make the switch, I would work on it in customs or social slayer because it can really f*** you up in matchmaking at first.
I use default. I have used it ever since the start, so I am most used to it. I also keep my look inversion not inverted. I can't play any Halo game with the vision inverted.
I am currently making the switch to bumper jumper, as such I am only going to play custom games for a while.
Default, but I'm warming up to Bumper Jumper, sounds useful. I put my sensitivity on 10 and still snipe decently, anyone else?
I'm retarded enough with the Default, I wouldn't mind having the controls similar to COD4 but for now I'm sticking with default.
I tried Boxer for a little bit, but that didn't work, so I switched back to default. Although seeing the replies to this topic tonight I might start using the bumper jumper setup.
Default, but I wish there was origional... like "X" to pick up.... those were the days... Lol. I actually like the new setup better, just took me forever to get it down in September...
Default, been that way for.................... we'll just say a long time. Anyway, I don't know why I'm going to say this on this poll, but here in Halo discussion, why is 99% of topics a poll?
I thought the same thing when a friend recommended it to me but about 5 customs and 5 social games you have it down. You won't regret it. It shouldn't take too long to switch except I wish they could have left beatdown and reload the same because that is the one tricky part to switching. Nah, you won't lose any nade throwing and shooting skills you just sacrifice jumping, reloading, grenade switch, and beatdowns for a bit. I am pretty dang good at halo, and I wouldn't recommend that setting. The only time that really contributes to your skills is if you get caught from behind and have to turn quickly which if you are always getting surprised like that, its not your controller skills that is the problem, it's your awareness. The only other time it's useful if you are a quick sniper and push headshot because you can pan over the screen and hit it right when their head is red in the scope. I use sensitivity 5, bumper jumper, not inverted, and no vibration.
