    Background: Syndicate is a one-sided objective, team slayer, and Free-For-All map originally built for week 4 of the template contest. Monster and I decided to give this this one a go to demonstrate our forging skills and to prove to ourselves that we could actually complete a project. Syndicate started out as "just the contest map" but slowly turned into what I now call our masterpiece thus far. After contemplating for a few days on what it was we wanted to do with the template, our concept was starting to pull through. In an estimated 90-100 hours (Over a 4 week period), the map was finally finished which put a huge smile on our faces. The testing period was not as long as we had hoped for, but reactions from testers were positive both in the gameplay and aesthetics department.

    Description: Syndicate is a completely assymetrical map. As stated above, it will suppport one sided objective games, including team slayer and FFA. Every structure is accessible with at least one ramp or stairset leading up to them, eliminating those awkward "skill jumps" we all love to hate. Rather than having only the Foundry floor and another level at box hight, those two levels are brought together with wall platforms. Syndicate sticks to a small weapon-set catering to MLG settings, giving Monster and I the competitive edge we needed to suit our play-styles. With painstaking accuracy, we were able to deliver a map that both functioned well and gave us something pretty to look at. Enjoy :)

    (It is recommended that you use MLG settings or settings with BR start and no radar)



    Changes from v1 to v1.2 include:
    • Replaced double open divider boxes with double boxes
    • Moved Bubble Shield to the opposite side of the shrine
    • Added fencewalls by rockets to prevent escaping
    • Added Territories
    • Added Power Drain
    • Removed ghost for extra weapons/grenades
    • New and improved spawns/spawn areas for all gametypes

    hey not bad looks like a good map but you need to put descriptoins on the pictures so we know what bases are what and all that stuff good job

    I DL'd this map when it was posted as the winner of the template contest, and the aesthetics are pretty awesome. I really liked the raised wall floor you had going on. The only question I have is: are you meant to be able to get on top of the double box wall in the middle? Because you can get there easily and from there you can pretty much see the whole map and would be a pretty good area to hold in team games. I'm not sure if that would benefit the gameplay. Just a thought, but the map looks great. You deserved the contest win. 9/10

    Oh yeah this is the Template winner. Congratulations again on winning that. Well there's not much for me to say because I already mentioned what I though in the other thread. Beautiful interlocking, nice clock, and it looks a lot like a race track in the 2nd picture. <--- I mean that as a good thing, well not a good thing but not a bad thing. Overall the map is awesome.

    This is an excellent map. I love the varying levels of elevation, and I'm jealous of your ability to make ramps out of walls; I'm pretty rusty at that. Excellent job, and I love the clocktower.

    Yes, we changed those to solid boxes from open boxes because people would get ontop of them during games and fall in. So by all means, get up there and destroy. :)

    Ahh,yes,the winner.This map is very well constructed and it deserved to win the template contest.This new improvement probably makes the map much better.The only thing i didn't like was that BRS come back at 150sec,but i guess its for strategic use

    Yes. I didn't get to download earlier because i had some crap on my hard drive but i cleared some stuff and planted a dl. btw shaddo blade im pretty sure you can get up there with a nade and you can see some of the map but it doesn't obliterate or anything. Also take into account that if you can see a lot of areas a lot of people in those areas can see you and team shot you. With all this taken into account i think it does benifit gameplay with all the risks they are taking to get that advantage.

    this map is amazing aesthetically and in gameplay. Though it is still quite easy to break, it is a great map. It looks like all of your idea's were executed perfectly. 5/5 definitely

    Congrats on the contest win, man. There's not much more I can really say than want blood fire said in his write up. I can just say I really love the layout and how everything has been flawlessly executed. 5/5

    Hey dude sick map, this deserves to win the contest! I really love the clocktower, gives ur map a distinct part that seperates it from other maps, the middle wall kinda looks a bit bleak, maybe make it an actual part of the map, kinda of like a middle base. Makes the picture with the clock look fugly. Anyways overall everything is much better than i could ever make it, and it looks real simple, but effective so 4.7/4.8 because of the middle wall :) Keep forging!

    I cannot download your map due to the fact that my Halo disc is broken. Therefore, I will give my review based off of the pictures and the description. Also, congratulations on winning the Template Contest. Your map is very deserving of that honor.

    Aesthetics: Your map looks absolutely beautiful. The curves are amazing and smooth and some of the features are unique and very innovative. One part that is very eye-catching is the box geomerged into the crane. You have done one of the best jobs using teleporter lights to make a word or design. The box really looks like a clock and the positioning of the lights is near perfect. Also, your entire map seems to be interlocked and geomerged where neccessary. All of this has been done cleanly and it makes your map look much better. Another thing I like is how you used walls to make a sort of "river" that is set in to the surrounding map geometrey. These passageways look smooth and well made. They make for an intriguing and new design. The multiple height levels on the map make it look great. All the ramps look great and flow with the map. Also, you created a very interesting structure with the box, walls, and powerup. It looks nice and adds to the aesthetics of the map. All in all, this is one of the most origional and clean maps I have seen. Great job on that.

    Gameplay: Judging on what I can see and what has been written, your map flows very well. There are multiple routes everywhere which include the high ground on the double boxes and the low ground in the "river". The entire map has an interesting layout and utilizes high versus low ground incredibly well. The entire map seems to curve and wind around itself which gives you multiple routes to travel. Your map seems like it would play very well on the slayer or team slayer sttings. There are no unfair advantages to either team and there are no clear bases or camping spots. The only possible flaw could be the openness of the section with the fence wall and shield door combo. It might play well for all I know but to me it seems a bit open. Mostly all of the map looks like it works nicely. The gameplay for this map seems to be above standard.

    Overall: You made a very nice map. It has pleasing aesthetics with smooth surfaces and curves and unique structures. The gameplay seems to flow well as well. The map looks excellent overall. very nice job guys.

    This is absolutely beautiful and this map plays just as good as it looks.
    I love the quality of this map. My favorite part is the "clock." It looks extremely good.

    That my friends, is a true example of how you should post a review without seeing a map. Hell, that's how you should post a review even if you have seen the map!

    I saw that this map won the contest and wow! This map looks solid and looks like you put a lot of time in it.

    The aesthetics looks stunning. The floor of double walls looks great and some of the main structures in the map look very well done and very well forged.

    Great Job and a dl from me and a review on the gameplay later.

    hey try to maximize the print saying i saved this map from sucking at gameplay. anyways great map you had great ideas such as the shrine and the elevated floors i love the clock and keep forging 10 out of 10 yeah thanks for following forge hub rules and nasty first post. forge on
