Map Idea: Shooting Range

    This is a mini game idea i've had for awhile but never put the time into making it. (not to say it's up for grabs) The game plays as follows: it's team slayer, you get -1 each time you die, you only live once, very low health and very high damage, everyone spawns with BR and sniper. There are two teams, each starts in their own box side by side(but are unable to see or shoot the other team). The top of the box is open and the front is secured with window panels (basically you can see and shoot out but you can't leave the box). Then the fun begins; Slowly (set on respawn timers and not spawning at the start) fusion coils will be lauched via man cannons up in the air towards each box. It will be a slow stream at first then pick up as time goes on. The goal is simple, shoot the fusion coils out of the air before they hit your box and kill you and your teammates, the team with the highest of the negative scores at the end of a few rounds wins. So... Any thoughts or suggestions?

    I like.

    Are you thinking of having only one man cannon shooting at each box, or multiple man cannons from multiple angles and trajectories?

    I love the idea of survival that is not Infection.

    Sounds cool. I have the day off Friday and Monday--I'd love helping out on something like that.

    Sounds pretty fun and original but unfortunately honor rules never go well. If you find out a way to make it work without honor rules I might be interested :).

    nice, what are the weapon respawn times (if any weapon respawns at all)

    eh, u got a box made with walls im guessin k, but grav on so no one can jump over / grenade jump - no grenades needed anyway- cant see what the problem is ....

    Could be Snipers w/unlimited ammo?

    Or Pistols w/unlimited ammo?

    great idea there would only be one problem i see is how to get the fusion coils in the "basket of people"

    I don't know what honor rules would be needed exactly... I mean as long as you can't get out of the box(high gravity) and make sure the fusion coils can kill someone anywhere in the box. How do you think this could be played unfairly without honor rules?

    I was planning on using all 8 man cannons, I also have an idea involving gravity lifts on how to increase the respawn rate of fusion coils after 190 seconds (the maximum a lotted respawn time)

    And no I wasn't planning on putting any weapons, I figure as long as the br and sniper destroy the coils in one or two hits, the players will be set.

    The boxes would have window panels on the front to allow the fusion coils to pass though. you might think the window panels will stop the fusion coil but when you have basically no shield and the box is only as deep as a 2-3 Spartans you're going to be killed even if hits the window. I figure 2-3 window panels across, and about a 1/4 walls length away.

    You could position the window panels so that only the open sections cover the opening to the box. That way, there would be less of an obstruction for the coils on their way to carnage.

    Or, use six cannons for the coils and one each to push people back into the box?

    What I'm trying to get at is that most players won't be satisfied with just shooting at fusion coils, they'll probably end up shooting each other. The honor rule in this case is that they aren't allowed to shoot at each other, only on the fusion coils.

    you could just make the grav 200% so noone could jump out

    Umm... Turn team damage off, maybe? Also if they don't shoot the coils, they will just die anyway.

    oh yeah you could put them in open boxs and cover the backs with walls

    I'm not really sure what that would do since the teams are playing against each other and therefore probably are going to kill each other. I'm not talking about teamkilling you know. :squirrel_shiftyeyes:

    Did you fully read and understand my first post? This map does not involve any team interaction, both teams are playing on the same map but they can't shoot one another(due to the fact they are stuck boxes). If i was to turn friendly fire off it wouldn't affect the game at all.

    you could do something like this

    red is where the red teams box would be
    blue is where the blue teams box is
    the black would be a barrier (probably made from double boxes )to stop the other team from interfering( optional )
    and purple are the man cannons( not actual placement)

    Yeah, the multiple ones would be the best idea because if not, each team would have one person dedicated to sniping the predictable box coming from the one man cannon.

    I just played the level in a one on one testing situation. It was a lot of fun and not only entertains, but will certainly improve your BR aiming skills.

    Good map, Timeless. Simple is better, and you nailed this one!!
