So here's whats going down for all you who don't live in Massachusettes. One of the questions on the voting ballat was whether or not marijuanna should be decriminalized. It would still be against the law but you would no longer recieve a criminal record for being caught with less then an ounce with it. Instead if you were found with weed you would only recieve a 100 dollar fine. This is so that people do not throw away their lives and jobs by being caught with an extremely small amount. Plus if you are caught the money goes to the state of Massachusettes. Election day has come and gone and this new law was passed by the people of Massachusettes. But; government workers for the state are now discussing whether they want to change the law back to what it originally was before the vote. So I have two questions, my first question being:Why would they put this on the ballet, if only to take it back if accepted. My second question is to you forgehub, should marijuanna be decriminalized, or not.
On the michigan ballot, proposal 2 was legalizing marijuana for medical purposes. Meaning you can freely grow it and use it if you get a prescription. I voted yes, and so did over 60% of others and it passed. It makes sense, and is a very helpful treatment for cancer among other things. As for the Massachusetts law, that's pretty much retarded. Either make it legal, or don't make it legal wtf. The fact that they're talking of taking it back is even more retarded. I believe they should keep it the same.
I personally would rather it be legal because the government could tax it and make a lot of money off of it. Of course that's completely unrealistic. But as far as this goes I was shocked that they are now trying to take back what people voted on. It was overwhelming too, like 63 percent voted yes.
And that is? It's a waste cracking down on weed because it doesn't harm anyone (Except babies if the mom smocked while pregnant)
Yes Grif, please, elaborate for us. Your point is completely flawed in the mind of millions, including my own mind. I would love an explanation. Same for drinking and smoking cigarettes, if I might add... To the question(s) at hand. A) The fact that they are trying to take it back is unconstitutional, and completely absurd. They put it in the poll, and them trying to take it back, just goes to show who it was the voted against it, and that it's a shame that they have any form of power whether it be politically, or whatever. B) There is already a place for that debate.
Yeah this was about decriminilization of it not legalization, and how they might change it back. But really it belong in the original marijuana thread.
Do any of you know if any other laws regarding marijuana have been passed besides Michigan and mass. That decriminalization of being caught with marijuana really takes alot of stress of the people who just smoke and don't deal. Makes me want to move to mass.
Alcohol does harm if somebody happens to get drink to much and drive a car or operate machinery(other than that it sould not be as deadly to others) Sorry for getting off topic
Sorry Tex, if you want to lock this thread and just add it to the marjuanna one thats fine. I personally think that weed should be legalized alltogether. At least we're getting closer. Unfortunately for everyone that voted for the decriminalization of the stuff our opinion doesn't really mean much.
