Blackout v1.2 Bathed in frozen moonlight, this abandoned drilling platform is now a monument to human frailty. 4-12 players. Don't read the rest of the post until you've read this. I'm sure you all hate blackout or the majority of you. From my experience it looks like its not a favorite because of its silly spawns and unfair weapon placement. Well I'm here to fix that! Here is a list of fixes. Version 1.2 Changes include: Fixed Spawning and added effective spawns. Weaponry balance: Removed Sword, Shotgun at lower middle of map. There are now 2 snipers and lots of duel weapons. More team oriented, Better playability for CTF, KOTH, Oddball. Support not yet added for Assault. More equipment added, to create strategic gameplay and stop people running around without trouble. Added weapons to places where people don't usually go. E.g. Mauler in the long corner catwalk. Added fusion coils in certain areas for effective easy kills. This should add even more strategic gameplay. Well its still the same map, I just reforged it to fix alot of problems with that map. Edit: I wasn't crying, I was just explaining. You said it still looked like a bungie map, Its suppose too.
although i agree that the weapons are still bad, i like that you tried, maybe spread out and or delete some weapons and i'll dl.
I think the Active Camo would have been better where the shotgun usually spawns to make the 'wearer' more vulnerable until they're visible. 20 Plasma Grenades?! That'll make for lots of stick medals... I knew someone would do this eventually. Have you ever played Hammerzeit on this map? I spawned in a firefight twice and then on Shotty Snipers, I spawned in between two enemies. Glad you fixed the spawn points. Well done.
Yeah, Cheers the spawns are pretty bad. The camo is wear it is because of the team orientation. So one team should get overshield and one get camo, Like guardian.
I would have to say that I like the original Blackout better and I shall tell you why. First of all, the Overshield and Active Camo just don't seem to fit this map. The camo makes for some noobish camping with the shotgun, not to mention that the shotgun is in the path of the Camo, and the Overshield isn't that greatest on Blackout so the team that has the Camo has the advantage in that term. Way too many grenades on the map. Have maybe 6-8 stickies (10 is pushing it) and at least 2-4 frags. Having a shotgun plus 2 maulers is a little overpowering, especially since one mauler is right by the active camo which is quite a bad thing. Aside from all of that I would have to say need more interlox. lol jk
That question did come up in my mind. I might actually get rid of camo and the shot gun remove 1 mauler and put the other in the middle of the map and have 2 overshields that only ever spawn once.
it seems a little- unfair. one base has a sniper and carbine+ more and the other- an AR and brute shot+ magnum... it just seems that this would be an unfair advantage for those that are in the tower
I am sorry to say this, because I know you just wanted to make Blackout a better map, but it looks to be worse. The weapons seem oddly placed, with two plasma pistols right next to each other. I have never seen the plasma pistol used with another in a dual-wield. Also, the equipment looks very bad. 30 (!) sticky grenades? That is way, way too many, even if this were Valhalla. The equipment list also looks too large, because too much equipment leads to too much camping. The bases also look very lopsided, with the original sniper tower having very limited weapons only meant for short range, and the BR tower having a carbine, BR, and sniper. Also, many matchmaking games have proved for me that the overshield and camo are NOT equal. The camo is extremely bettter, especially with the overshield having only one extra health bar now. Sorry, but based on what I see, I would much rather play the original Blackout EDIT: Sorry, just read the post before this. Omit the part about lopsided bases.
Yeah, adding a snipe to BR3 just made it even more dominating. You might as well be spawning rockets up there too. Good try but not gonna work.
Personally, the overshield and camo I would have put them both as the same power up. I consider camo a lot better than overshield if used correctly.
