Map Title: Where am I? Download Map Description: This is a small, close-quarters map made on foundry. One of the large squares created by the wall in foundry was locked in and a a 3 story maze built inside. Recommended for slayer or infection, 4-10 players. The build quality is not that great and I'm rather new to forging, so any help or advice would be appreciated. EDIT: thanks for the advice and help everyone
Looks like one of those junkyard maps, and junkyard maps are when you just spawn random stuff and throw em everywhere :squirrel_eyebrow: correct me if i am wrong.
yeah, i know it looks like that :/ Thats not what I was doing though, I was actually working from a plan. Didn't exactly work out like I hoped. No... uh oh. This sounds like something I should have known way back when I started forging I'm assuming there's a tutorial on here, im off to have a look.
Was this map made to look like it was made all sloppy and stuff because it does. I usually think of the "maze" based maps to take place in different rooms that can be accessed by teleporters and such. I don't see much in the screen shots either, looks like a junkyard ( like what previous people have said ). To me this map started with a very great concept, but the presentation ofit just crashed and burned.
Well don't worry. I don't even know how many maps I've started out trying to make but midway in between change ideas Don't give up. U will get better I'm no pro at forging but I've definetly improved since my first map Just try interlocking more objects so it looks smoother and that alone will give u a couple dizownloads
In case if you haven't found it, the interlocking tutorial can be found here. Not only will it look much smoother, when walking on it, it feels like a smooth surface rather then a bunch of objects in a line.
This map would probably fair well if all the proper forge techniques were used. The biggest thing is that a massive amount of interlocking is needed. Please visit forging 101 for assistance on forging. - Brute Captain
