Well i had this really good idea, called extraction. The game will be based on the one sided VIP. The VIP team win by getting thier VIP to another end of the map, In my idea, i had blocked off a doorway on the outside of Rats Nest, forcing them to drive all the way around the outside to score. The other team have to stop them from getting the full way around. The way i designed it, i played with 50% shields, and 150% damage, and had every player have a BR start. I also made the VIP have 90% shields and be 'immune to headshots' I put this teams starting points relatively close to the VIP team, and put thier respawn points closer to the score area, this means that if one of them dies, then they can have another go, without having to catch up with a speeding warthogs. I have the VIP team to have 1 life each, i know it isnt possible to have 1 team with 1 life, so i put infinte respawns, and only let the VIP team have starting points, i put thier respawn points in the glitch room, overlooking the outside. This allows them to watch thier team win after they die. Overall i think this game type is really fun, the rounds only last a minute, so its constant action. You can have a real great time on here, do some amazingly funny things. Im just wondering what some people think of this idea, i would love to see a well made forge map on this, when i made the map it was purely to see if it works. My map looks empty and as if not much time was spent on it. Ok what do you think.
Re: Really good idea for a forge map - Look - o.0 Sounds good. But I'm not sure it would be fun for the VIP if he never got saved... I like the "wait outside" idea. Is that a new idea? I haven't seen it implemented before...
Re: Really good idea for a forge map - Look - o.0 Not all ideas are had by only one person. Except for mine. And don you be taken them! [/joke] This person could have easily had the idea themselves. I like what you have put down, IVlatty, but if it's just the outside of Rat's Nest, it seems like the rounds would be short. My idea, for anyone who cares, would be blocking a few areas in Standoff, then having the rescuers open the door to free the VIP, then having them all fight out. In practice, it would be harder to manage, as the team attacking the VIP might as well just open the gate themselves... but i dunno. Someone else try it.
Re: Really good idea for a forge map - Look - o.0 It has, but not a huge amount. Please don't create topic titles including 'Look!' or 'Really good' or anything of the sort, it's the beginning of a slippery slope to B.net posts. Good luck with your map.
I have been working on a map just like this. It is on sandtrap and the vi pis very very slow and can not get in vehicles. You must drive the elephant to the other side of the map and back... it sounds like a good idea though waiting would be very very boring.
The round time limit on this was 1 minute, i know thats short but the idea is to have alot of rounds, also i could rais that, and have alot of obstacles,
If someone actually makes this i will dL nad post on severally groups im in on bungie(giving a link to your maps thread)
I have created an infection map like this.....it requires the humans to have to stay in vehicles the whole time.....if they don't at the end of the "race" they can't make a jump to the "last stand" base for the humans to fight off from the infected...but, I am still trying to work with different spawns and game variants to make things run smoother...GL with your map though!
I've been working on a one-sided VIP variant as well. Only in my version, the VIP has to be freed from a prison by his teammates' successful invasion of a base and activation of a switch. After he is freed, he is forced to retake the Defense base with his teammates, capturing up to three Go-To points on the way (one of which is reached after he is freed, another after he fights his way half of the way to the Defensive stronghold, and another when he reaches the center of the Defense's base. I'm going to call it "Captive," provided it works of course.
