Mad Dash! Download the map here Download the gametype here (Both are REQ. to play the game!) Mad Dash! is a new assault-type minigame utilizing the underground bases and tunnels on Isolation. The party is divided into two teams: The Defenders, and the Runners. The Defenders spawn in the underground bunkers in which they cannot escape, and using the available weapons, they must stop the Runners from getting the bomb from one end of the tunnel to the other. The Runners must use teamwork and the equipment available to them to get the bomb across the underground tunnel. There is a two minute time limit, so the Runners have to think fast...and run. The Defenders should try to respond with just as much vigor (You could think of this game as a mix of Grifball and tower defense games). The Runners spawn here: And must get the bomb to this end: The Defenders spawn in these two bases (the two-way teleporters allow the Defenders access to both bases): The yellow base houses terran-themed weapons and equipment, which include: Quantity / Spare clips / Respawn time 1x Shotty / 1 spare clip / 45 sec 4x Frags / N/A / 60 sec 3x BR / 2 spare clips / 60 sec 2x SMG / 2 spare clips / 45 sec 2x Firebombs / N/A / 30 sec 1x Rocket Launcher / 1 spare clip / Never The blue base houses Covenant-themed weapons and equipment, which include: Quantity / Spare clips / Respawn time 4x Plasma Nades / N/A / 60 sec 2x Plasma Rifles / N/A / 30 sec 3x Carbines / 2 spare clips / 60 sec 2x Maulers / 1 spare clip / 45 sec 2x Spike Nades / N/A / 20 sec 1x Sentinel Beam / N/A / Never These are the equipment available to Runners only: 2x Deployable Covers / 20 sec 1x Regenerator / 30 sec 1x Bubble Shield / 45 sec 1x Flare / 45 sec Note: Don't let all of these weapons scare you off. Much testing has been done and I assure you that it is balanced, meaning that both teams have equal chances of being successful as long as you work as a team and you know what you're doing. If there are still balance issues, please notify me and I will fix them. Bomb Settings and Tips for the Runners: The bomb carrier is weaker and slower than everybody else, so you must try to protect the carrier as much as possible. If you are running with the bomb, don't run alone! The bomb resets in three seconds, which is just enough time to pass it over to a teammate. If you're not careful and your entire team dies, the bomb will reset instantly and you will have to try again. There are actually many different ways that you could utilize the equipment, so think about what you're going to do. Don't just recklessly run across; you could get your team killed this way. Tips for the Defenders: The weapons in the bases are organized by power and effectiveness; the more powerful the weapon is, the farther back it spawns. The power weapons spawn at the very back of the bases, so someone will have to run over and get it which leaves time for the Runners to make their move. Decide whether to take the risk or not, but once a power weapon is attained, it can be very devastating. Be careful, however, because it doesn't spawn until the next round. General Settings: - 75% speed, 100% gravity - 125% damage modifier - 100% damage resistance - Magnum starts - Motion sensor off Bomb Carrier Traits: - 50% speed - 90% damage resistance Now for the part that many people skip over to...Action shots! Run, damnit, run!! That flare didn't work too well... Rocket failure OH SHI-!! OH NOES!! I R TEH BLIND!!!! Victory!! ____________________________________ Final Notes: I thought this map was FH worthy, but obviously, that's up to you to decide. I would like to point out that this game has virtually no honour rules. Yes, the Runners can easily jump over the barricades in the 2nd pic, but they would be wasting their time. Everything is blocked off, and I made sure that every part of the map that I barricaded is impenetrable (well...except for that one part of the map anyway). By the way, this map was, at first, VERY annoying to block off. It took me a few hours, but I managed to pull it off...for the most part. Finally, I would like to thank all my friends who helped me with testing and tweaking. I hope you will all enjoy!
aww this looks so cool i cant wait to dl it it looks pretty cool also to help you with blocking stuff off you can put a few teleporters on the inside by the part that is not totally glitch proof and then put a receiver inside so it puts them back. btw i think this is the first map on isolation ive ever seen on FH lol
I'll admit its basic but it looks like a pretty good idea, i like the seperation and i don't realy think you need to block off the defenders. (they are stupid if they leave and let the attackers score anyway lol)
hey this idea is great but regretibly it hAS been done b4. i cant tell you when but i have seen this b4. Not saying it is a horrible map. far from it. the game is fun ( i has played) and the idea is great but i hate when the world is unfair. a map that you have seen b4 is just not as interesting the second time around...no matter how good it is.
I've already used most of the available teleporters to block off everything. The walls that you see where the Runners spawn took the most teleporters, but it's rock-solid. I put so many grenades into it from all sides and it didn't budge at all. The problem isn't whether the defenders leave or not, it's the attackers being retarded and running into the bases and spawn killing. I made sure that won't ever happen though.
Wow this map looks really fun and finally its a map not on foundry =D great job, its very simple though but there isnt much you can do to this map either way so 4/5 :3 maybe picka map that allows more customization next time? just a suggestion.
I picked this map because the two underground bases were perfect for this gametype. Thanks for the feedback, though!
This looks really cool. I had a similar idea of doing something like this but from scrach on foundry. I really hope that you got the weapon balance right. The bubble shield looks like it could be amazingly unfair. Q'ed
*Bump* Don't tell me this thread already died... The map doesn't seem like much, but I put the time into making sure that the game is balanced and fun. If there are still balance issues, I would like to hear from you. Please, at least just give this a try.
