MLG Dead Zone is a room based asymetrical map desinged around MLG rules. It has a distinguished Red, Blue, A, B and Mid areas. Although it's a medium-small sized map, 4v4 isn't as hectic as you might think. Most MLG maps are very open and symetrical. I'm taking a chance on this one being pretty much completely opposite of the norm. With over 30hrs in the build i believe it is now complete. It supports all MLG gametypes. Almost everything has been interlocked into something else. Looks pretty original, plus very good interlocking. My only criticism would be that it seems a little too tight. You should also probably add some more grenades, if you wanted total chaos.
Some areas are a little more cramped than others but thats why the mauler is the main power weapon on the map. As far as more nades, i don't really want choas, i'd prefer it to be as balanced as possible from exciting to tactical. The pictures don't really do it justice. You gotta DL and try it out!
it looks like a good map BUT if you look at the last picture u can see a bit of wall hanging out is it meant to be like that ? and all the pictures need to have a bit more of the map in it because if you look at B room its just a hall with a BR in it but very goods job with interlocking
pretty good map, looks pretty clean. looks liek it will have maybe a gaurdian or lcokout/blackout feeling with it being compacted like that and the corners. pretty desent idea with the bridges dropping off like, i like it. il DL and check it out, good job.
Yes, in the last picture there is part of a double wall sticking out. That is the home of the "Almighty Mauler" which dominates this map. As far as the pics. It's kind of hard without taking off the roof to see whats what. I'd take the roof off for pics but then you wouldn't have the feel of being inside the map, but rather outside it.
looks very nice in the pictures but seems very close range, not exactly MLGs style, and with the damage boost I feel that grenades will pursue me in every room. I'll download and see if my views from the pictures are true, if they are not then you have one great MLG map. I'll edit this post after.
This looks fantastic but is this really not budget glitched? If not than you've certainly earned my download.
No, the map is NOT budget glitched. In fact i still have money left over. I do not like using the budget glitch for a few reasons; first due to the issues of lag creation and z fighting standing out more, and secondly if i'm using a budget glitched map, it will never have a chance at being in matchmaking. (Not that my maps are the best ever, but i kill any chance right from the start by using a glitched map.)
Well like i was saying before, i was going for a smaller room based map to be different than everyone else. If that ends up killing this map in the long run so be it. But please DL and try it. The map has plenty of long range action still. And it makes your team work more essential than ever being in close corners with your enemies. The great thing is on Flag, there are so many different ways to get from one base to another but will require a strong escort. The map was designed to be close range.
Played a bunch more custom games on it today and i'd have to say team oddball on this map has got to be the most fun i've had playing halo in the longest time. I'll put up some gameplay pictures tomorrow in the first post.
