I've finally finished up on my Regicide map concept with a halo 3 foundry template of my own making. To the point: Regicide is my next big map and I've changed my progression on how I make maps for halo starting with the completion of my recent Sketchup project. Regicide is an asymmetrical map targeted to play MLG team slayer and king of the hill gameplay, but there will also be testing of ball and capture the flag. Regicide is built around items of power and houses rooms and towers for each, such as sniper tower, overshield room and the controversial rocket - placed on and overhead walkway. Lines of sights stretching from 45 degree base to base are shown with multiple entrances/exits for rooms. I'm debating whether two way teleports with jump downs at sniper tower and overshield should be allowed in the final version. Here are a few key pictures I took last night to demonstrate some potential success of a new forge tool and a of a new map I have been very anxious to reveal. I come here to simply see what you guys think about this style of map and concept. ummmm, this simple looks amazing. The style and layout is simply superb. If you can get those pictures to look like your final project. You will be announced god of MLG map making. Also are you going to be releasing your google sketch up foundry template to the community?
I'm loving the asymmetrical approach. Not much else I can say about it other than I can't wait to see the map and be able to use this sketchup tool you've made. Both look excellent.
Yes the template is going to be available soon, hope you guys enjoy it. The map is about half done on sniper side - within the next week or two - that's probably my best bet and is roughly it's time frame. There's still room for improved changes while I find time to build.
You thought about lines of sight during the sketchup? Awesome, that to me has been the biggest problem with mlg foundry maps, an overabundance of lines of sight. This looks great and so does the sketch-up tool. Fritz, what would you say the ETA on this map is?

That looks outstanding! It gets me all excited to make this in Foundry myself! Lawl, I'ma go steal your idea, >. The layout looks great with all the extra Aesthetic features as well as 'smart' ones for some Competitive gameplay.

When are you going to release the foundry designer for sketch up? Forgehub would make love to you if you did. No but seriously, I REALLY want to use it, so I could make my maps better. Oh, and the map looks beastly! I like the wall design the best.
I've updated the OP with a video on the progress of Regicide as a foundry map. My Sketchup is most likely being bundled with an announcement, an announcement of a forge contest with nice prizes among other things on or near the coming holidays. Details are being work out.
are you some sort of computer designer? cause that looks real proffesional, the map and the sketch thingy. it looks as if its one of those...things that people use to design levels in video games. oh ya, and the map looks sweet to.
What can I say other than Wow! I simply love the fact how it looks almost as though you already made it, where did you get those textures from for sketchup, they look so exact. I love it, can't wait to see it made, have fun.
I saw this on H3F.co.uk and to say i was impressed would be an understatement. For an MLG map, this has to be the greatest challenge i have ever seen. If you pull this off, in both gameplay and design, there is a serious E-Hug coming your way.
True That, Matty. If you do pull this off, you are the god of MLG map making. The map itself looks like a design straight out of hell, so be proud of that. If you figure out the spawn system, this is a feature, i guaran-damn-tee it. Cant wait for the Template!
