Assuming everyone has seen the silenced SMG(I think) in Halo 3:Recon I have a couple things to say. In the Bungie Weekly Update on Oct.17 one guy asked a question about new weapons. The response was "Did you see a different version of the trailer than I did?". Assuming this means there will be new weapons in Halo 3:Recon what are your thoughts, criticism or comments?
im fairly confident that he means "there wasnt anything in the trailer, so why should you think theres new weapons?". i could be very wrong.
I was really hoping for Bungie to say that the silenced smg weapon was a completely different weapon just to shut down the many people that were insisting it was an smg. Even though it looked to me like just a silenced smg.
I think it looks to similar to be a silenced Smg not be one. In the Halo Universe it seems variants are a whole new gun so when he says did you see a different trailer who could mean he did see a new gun or the complete opposite thing and I'm a complete idiot.
I take it as there are going to be new guns in the Campaign. Its a different gun than what we have currently in Halo 3, despite the fact that it is a submachine gun. Its still not exactly the same, so its new content.
If we're going to stick to cannon, there technically shouldn't be any new weapons. In fact there should be less weapons. For example, this new game is supposed to take place just after the New Mombasa level named 'Outskirts' where that giant covenant ship created that giant slip space explosion destroying New Mombasa. We are going to control one of the ODST that lands on the ground in an escape pod after this happens. If I remember my Halo2 well then it's the second level in which you control the Master Chief. Making it the third level I think. Anyway it's somewhere around there, doesn't really matter. Now getting back to the point at hand, I don't remember carrying around a Brute Spiker or a Spartan Laser. I never threw a spike grenade. Why? Because they weren't around at the time. Or at least in that game. So if Recon takes place during the same time period we should expect to see the Halo2 weapons, and that's it, 'technically'.
It's amazing how you'll all take Bungie's comebacks to one guy who's overextrapolating on a subject and then continue to extrapolate on top of it.
