    Pelican Down

Story: While scouting an uninhabited region of the Ark your Pelican begins to veer off course as somke trails from the right engine of you dropship. Next thing you know there is a loud crash and the sound of bending metal. Amazingly most of the crew survives and you and your team build a makeshift camp. After days of waiting your team finally gets a radio response, help is on the way! However just then you here a sound that sends chills up your spine. Theres no mistaking it. Its the sound of a Phantom Dropship closing in. Seeing as your team is practically blind two men volunteer to patrol the area and gather intell on any enemy installations. About 40 minutes after their departure, your team recieves a radio call. It seems the two scouters have found a squad of covenant infantry patroling the area; however their report is all of a sudden cut short by the sound of a low pitched growl and a scream. You and your team can only listen in horror to the sounds of the last remaining soldier panting, attempting to run away. Sadly his transmission is cut off after the sound of a booming roar and a blood curdling scream. Now the worst of the worst is happening.....The Covenant know your there....

Game: Half of the players will spawn as humans at the crashed pelican with Assault Rifles as their default weapon. While there are some other weapons gathered behind the Pelican, they never respawn. The Pelican itself is lightly fortified to withstand Covenant attack. The zombies or Covenant spawn at one of the Forunner structures with more weapons and plenty of ammo with needlers as their default weapons. There are no shields for both sides so using cover and ambushes are extremely effective. After two minutes the Covenant recieve vehicles to aid in their attack, but the humans or UNSC are airdropped supplies at the other Forunner structure. This new human base is way more fortified, has turrets, an armory, and two warthogs and two mongooses. Last ten minutes and you win!

Notes/Tips: While the fight may seem lopsided towards the humans in the begining, dont be fooled. It is definately not. Players who usually take comfort in mowing down zombies or enemies from a distance with a BR will die. Luckily the position of the Pelican is prone to ambushes and human players will find this hard to keep in mind when spikes, needles, spike grenades, and so on are flying past them. Its also a good idea for the humans to start heading to their soon to be base about 15-30 seconds before the Covenant get vehicles. You will most likely find your self screaming and cursing if you are one of the poor SOBs that has to make the journey to your new base while wraiths, choppers, and ghosts trail behind. Lastly this game and map require ALOT of teamwork to win as a human. Players who venture off alone will often find themselves being swarmed by Covenant looking for easy kills. Even I haven't been able to last the ten minute time limit yet. However as you play try and use sneaky and cunning tactics to outsmart your enemy and win.

Same here i will DL. The only problem would be the humans getting the covendent supplies an using that. Ambushes sound like fun i can see alot of hit and run tactics for the humans. so far with out pics. 4/5

Pics are working nicely now. I had a feeling it would be on Valhalla. I'd like to say it's original but it's not really. It has been done before. Could you list the zombie traits so we can see just how hard it is for the humans? :)

It would be funny to watch the "Rambo" guy of the group on this map as he tries to board a chopper and fails horribly.

as stated in the description, both sides have no shields. I did forget to mention that every other trait is default for both sides. So rather then the humans or zombies get locked in a battle of trying to over power each other, its more of a battle of strategy.

Hmm, perhaps this would work better as a territories, or even VIP variant? The infection gameplay would quickly unbalance the teams. I do love the concept, and am overjoyed to see a map forged on Valhalla, but think that infection is not the gametype for this concept.

I agree with Jester on the matter of the game type. I think it would work better as a VIP variant where the VIP must survive for 6-8 minutes. Just an idea. Other than that it looks great.

By the way cool sig Jester.

This looks very similar to ezekeil's map, and it shares the same name. I'm alerting him of this; not sure if it's exactly the same map, but it sure looks and sounds similar.

This does share some rather odd similarites to my map but I am farily sure its just a case of great minds think alike or you saw my map and wanted to put a twist on it which is totally fine by me

The main difference is that mine uses a custom VIP extraction gametype as its primary mode and infection as a second

As for your map these type of infection games don't appeal to me from the post it seems one sided I know you say its not and if I didn't have the cursed RRoD I would check it out because the sniper posting {I put him on floating platform} works well but I'm not sure about the amount of vechiles frankly I wouldn't want to be a zombie if the humans had a compentent driver and a reasonable gunner

I do however think its great to see someone else getting out of the coffin that is foundry

A video would be a nice addition to this post the screens are better than average as well

    nice idea
this one is all about gameplay, which i actually like
one question, if you are human, and you die, i am guessing you become covenant....but that means it gets very covenant lopsided the longer you go. was that intended?
