Tom Sawyer Created by: Ififrito92 Recommended Players: 2-8 Supported Gametypes: Team Slayer, 1 Flag, 1 Bomb, FFA Slayer, and FFA Oddball Items on Map: 5 BR's, 1 sniper, 1 shotgun, 2 sets of rockets, 2 maulers, 1 needler, 1 bruteshot, 1 plasma pistol, 8 plasma grenades, 1 overshields, 1 camo, 1 bubble shield, 1 regenerator, and 1 power drain Tom Sawyer is a competitive map that can be used with many different gametypes. It is best played with team or ffa slayer, but also utilizes 1 sided objective gametypes well. Tom Sawyer's use of geo-merging and prominent structures helps add to the fast paced gameplay of the map. It is based around a center structure and has a high beam that is great for sniping and shooting BR's. Any spot on the map is easily accesible and there are many places to take cover from enemy fire. The map is probably best for team slayer, but 1 flag is also extremely competitive. MLG gametypes also work on this map although it is not neccessarily MLG. Overall this map is a lot of fun to play on and definitely deserves a download...DOWNLOAD HERE! Bungie.net : Bungie Online : Halo 3 File Details Here are some screenshots...Enjoy! Wow... holy crap, this looks amazing for how new you are. I am stunned. Looking at all these pics, I honestly cannot find a major flaw in this map. It simply looks stunning. I'm not kidding; I don't ever say this. Look through my posts, there's always something. Well, let's start listing what owns: -Uses almost all of Foundry, not just the big square -Multiple, easily accessible stories -No real spots to camp effectively -Effective spawn placement -Effective weapon placement -No situations where weapons would become too overpowered -Amazing interlocking/overall layout. Dude... seriously... 5/5
what's with the name? What does it mean and how does it relate to the map? Edit: while I was writing, someone wrote the same thing, DANG!
the name drew me in because it had win written all ove it. And the map is epic win also. The central structure is really cool and nicely interlocked good job on that. But there is a spot or 2 that i think may need a little more cover but i cant tell from the pictures. I would suggest that when you take a picture of a map do it from custom games that way nobody sees the teardrops
well, to quote one of the greatest rock bands of all time..." A modern day warrior, a mean mean stride, today's Tom Sawyer, mean mean pride." I love the band Rush, and Tom Sawyer is my favorite song by them so since this is such a savage map, i thought i would name it after a savage song... hope that answers your question...=]
Well this map to me looks a little congested...in other words crowded... But it looks pretty good....you should look how to geo-merge boxes to make it flow better A V2 might be good...overall 3.5/5
bloody hell one of your maps better get a bloody feature or there will be some explaining needing to be done.. you are the one of the most skilled forgers on forgehub, maybe not because of what you can do with the items, not saying that you cant your interlockings bloody amazing, but for your map structures and ideas and how good they look! 5/5, ive seen a lot of first time forgers on forgehub (contrary to what my post number may say) and you hav to be one of the best!
Posting a map named rush and a map named tom sawyer very clever On a whole the map looks very good and the centre structure looks phenominal. It does seem that you made the middle structure first and put the rest around the sides in to fill up the empty space
I dont like this map as it shows me how terribly rubbish all my maps are! 5/5 definite love all weapon placements and the gameplay results i had were phenominal!
I had a chance to do a Forge-through on your map and I have some feedback you may like. First thing I noticed was the design. It's not anything new, but it is serviceable. As long as you design something that isn't too over the top or confusing then you pretty much can't go wrong. Secondly, sometimes I like to take a different perspective to peoples maps and I add or delete things I think may improve the map. In this case I deleted the Fence boxes in the center. I did this because I felt that the map was a little too cluttered in some areas. This really opened up a few more sight lines and gave it a more appealing feel. By no means am I suggesting you change your map though, this is just an observation. Anyways, good work and keep forging :0)
